It does, but there is a reason behind it. When you drink one type of spirit, you only ingest one type of alcohol, and its associated "impurities". Your body is better able to cope with one set of "impurities", then if you change between, say, whisky and vodka. The old wives' tale of only drinking brown or white liquors is a myth.
Also, make sure you keep hydrated, alcohol is a potent diuretic and being dehydrated will make you feel worse.

Yes, mixing drinks does make it worse. A long time ago, it was believed that hard liquor was worse than an equal amount of Beer. THe extra water and other ingredients would slow the absorption of the alcohol. Then it was proven wrong. That they theorized that other chemicals in beer intensified the affect of alcohol. If you mix beer and hard liquor, You would get the worse of both worlds, no matter what order. Wine also is bad, even though it has a lower amount of alcohol in it. It contains sulfite that intensifies a hang over.

No, mixing different types of alcohol is no different than drinking the same type of alcohol of the same quantity.
What typically gets people so messed up is that mixed drinks taste so good that they lose track of how much they drank.
My wife is a lightweight, but I mix some really good drinks, and it gets her every time. But if she were drinking it straight, she would call it quits very early on.

No, the quantity of alcohol you consume is what directly correlates to how messed up you get, not the ingredients the alcohol is mixed with. Some mixers like Red Bull can keep you more energized while drinking which can lead to consumption of a larger amount of alcohol while dehydrating your body more.

YES. Mixing two liquors is more harmful, even if you drink half amount of a strong drink and half amount of very mild drink, it can take u more than u drink the same whole amount of strong drink. This may also depend on ur speed of drinking. Slow sipping is less powerful.
