I have 5 of them, I just received some, what is the best food for them and is a large cage recommended?

I would house them in a large cage if I had 5 of them. I would feed them normal millet sprays and parakeet food. You can also ad some hen scratch you buy at the feed store. You will find doves very messy and they smell as bad as chickens after a few days. Keep them in a cage that can be easily cleaned daily without having to remove the birds out of the cage. Preferably a cage with a plastic tray for easier cleaning. You may want to buy a cage seed catcher net too, to keep all the seed from flying all over the room when they peck at it or decide to roll in their food for a dust bath.

There are many good books available through the public library that will answer most of your questions before you even think to ask them.
