I know that Mormons believe in the Bible as far as it is translated correctly! They believe the book of Mormon is a book of scripture which was created by the the descendants of Lehi, who left Jerusalem with his family before Jerusalem were taken hostage by the Egyptians. These descendants occupied the countries of North and South America after being brought across the sea by God to escape the destruction awaiting the Jews in Jerusalem.
I know that they believe in Christ and all that he sacrificed and taught.

My ancestors were mormon. What do you want to know. The weird stuff or the overall?

Overall - they believe in 4 books - the funkiest of which is the Book of Mormon. It was some golden plates that were hanging around upstate New York, when god told Jos. Smith to translate them. He gave Joe magic glasses and a magic pen-thing to translate them into english. (Inexpleciably into 16th century english so it sounded like the King James Bible)

It states that a "lost tribe" of Israel came to the Americas on a raft and that is where Christ was when he was "dead" for 3 days! In the Americas.

Aren't you glad I didn't give you the weird stuff?

Joseph Smith had a special rock that he believed helped him find gold. The "New Revelation" ends up contradicting not only the Bible, but it's own teachings. They believe that children are sinless, which according to the Bible is contradictory. No joke. He was into superstition and things of that nature. Mormons believed that God had two sons, Jesus and Lucipher. They believed that 1/3 of the angels followed Lucipher, 1/3 followed Jesus, and the other third undecided. They believed that in order to distinquish between the two groups is that Luciphers followers are black and that Jesus' followers are white. No joke. But when so many were joining their Church, they changed it in their Mormon Bible. They changed it. They believe in polygamy, and believe that for every wife they have they will have a world in the afterlife. That wife will be the Eve for that one planet where the husband will have sex and populate the world. They come in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are wolves. Stay far far away from Mormons and their church.

JOSEPH SMITH SAID THAT THERE ARE MEN LIVING ON THE MOON.
Joseph Smith said that there are men living on the moon who dress like Quakers and live to be nearly 1000 years old. Since he was wrong about the moon, is it safe to trust him regarding the way to Heaven? (The Young Woman's Journal, Vol. 3, pages 263-264. See reprint in Mormonism -- Shadow or Reality? by Jerald and Sandra Tanner, page 4.)

JOSEPH SMITH BOASTED THAT HE DID MORE THAN JESUS TO KEEP A CHURCH TOGETHER.
"God is in the still small voice. In all these affidavits, indictments, it is all of the devil--all corruption. Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on the top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet . . . " (History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408-409).

1Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

2Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

3Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

4Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

A better question might be, why do so many people persecute mormons? I could tell you of so many times, and so many people that don't like them, but I can't really figure out why. Over all they are good people, not perfect, but they try just like the rest of us.

You know....I clicked on that link to youtube...I was floored. That is 100% accurate. That is exactly how the Mormon belief came to be. For once, I found something useful and true...on that site.

I know they have beliefs that are a bit strange and some that are blatent fairy tales that can be proven to be fairy tales because the Book Of Mormon was written fairly recently and many of the claims in it are not true.
