when I first got my retainer, it fit really snug around my teeth, and it was hard to get out using just my tongue. Its been a month since i've had my retainer, and its gotten really easy to take out, only using my tongue/lip/whatever. is this normal

If you're like most people I've seen with a new retainer, you've probably been popping it in and out with your tongue, right? That's one reason it's gotten looser. Use your fingers to pry the retainer loose from the back and pull it off. Resist the temptation to pop it on and off your teeth with your tongue.
And finally, tell your parents.
If you need a new retainer, that's much less expensive than having all that orthodontic work go down the drain.

Yes, this sounds normal. As the other person said, it means that your teeth are in their correct positions. The time to be worried is when you haven't worn your retainer in a while and you can't get it in!

If you are concerned that it seems too loose, talk to your orthodontist about it. He/she might want to make a new one for you that fits tighter.

You really shouldn't be able to take a clear retainer out with your tongue. It sounds like it may be losing its shape. (If you grind your teeth at night, you could be flattening it. We see that happen every now and then.)

Call your orthodontist's office and make an appointment to have it checked.
