Cherry, no that isn't why. Barbara is friends with the Clintons, a die hard leftist liberal if ever there was one. Her fan base is the same, so her antics come as no surprise to her followers or anyone else. The DC on the hand inflamed the majority of their fan base with their outspoken views against Bush. Agreed, it wasn't a smart move. I think their music is wonderful and Travelin' Soldier is one of my favorite songs, completely aside from politics. It rings true and blue for soldiers in Iraq and the melancholy ghosts of Vietnam, both the beloved departed and the living, who remember all to well that they fought for and returned to a country that didn't want them. I have prayed that Iraq would not become another Nam, but Dems will have it no other way it would seem.

I never liked the dixie chicks music, but I gained a whole lot of respect for them when they spoke their mind in an unpopular way. They were brave to do so, and their sales suffered because of it. Most country music lovers vote republiucan (often because their preacher tells them to) It is easy to say what everyone else wants you to, and even if you don't like what they said, you MUST admit that they were brave for saying it.

I live in the Houston area. From what I see the smoke has NOT cleared. The radio station do not play their music! The Dixie Chicks drove themselves in the dirt. Could be a misfortuate case of "wrong place at the wrong time" but you know what? They should have kept their mouths shut! Hindsight is 20/20 and now, looking back MAYBE we should not have gone to war (I'll leave my opinion out on this - please insert your own), but I can bet there aren't very many people who will stand up on a stage in a foreign country and bad mouth the US. If you do, you don't deserve to be welcomed back with open arms.
My copy of the one CD I had from them was sent to the local radio station to have it demolished (with millions of others) by a wrecking ball. I have not and will not ever buy their music again!!

I never understood the big deal about what the one girl said about Bush.
Have we given up freedom of speech.
Besides, what the Democrats have been saying about the President for the last eight years, has been far worse.
Calling him a liar, comparing him to Hitler and accusing him of everything that has gone wrong in this country for the last 20 years.
This from our top Democratic law makers is far worse than what that Dixie Chick said.

I agree Louis S we are human beings and we've the ultimate to speak our minds. i do no longer think of the Dixie Chick did something incorrect so they did no longer have faith in what Bush did. I wager there is alot of human beings have faith an identical factor. which incorporate me look in any respect the lives that replaced into replaced into lost and for what WMD's. all of us understand by using now there replaced into no WMDs. I agree that Saddam replaced right into a bad guy yet, i do no longer think of he replaced into relatively worth dropping over 4,000 our infantrymen. i understand we are making progression in Iraq yet, what's to declare as quickly as we depart that they undesirable men that replaced into there rebuild their forces and re invade Iraq back. The station I pay attention to has a sparkling software manger and he performs their songs now.

They are without question the dumbest performers ever. Let me explain. They are country music singers meaning they were huge in the south particularly in Texas their home state. In their genius they decide it is a good idea to insult the president who is popular with Southerns who like country music and is popular in Texas. In essence they called all of their fans idiots. Not smart if you are in a business trying to sell records to those fans.

They got twice the sh it kicking that Barbra Streisand got, and Barbra had props and skits in her show belittling Bush and his policies. No one made that big of a deal of her rant as the Chicks and their two cents, is that because they were ahead of the times and knew Bush was an idiot years ago and now when someone (Barbra) makes it an issue they consensus is there so its not a hot topic.

I think they have taken a turn to a far-left position and have changed their performances to reflect that. By doing so, they have alienated a large portion of their former fanbase and now their sales are dramatically lower. You have to accept the consequences of free speech.

I listen to country but I have never liked them. I will admit they are talented musicians but they waste their talent. Most of their songs aren't very good and I think they were/are overrated.

I'm not sure what your question is. I'm drunk right now. All I know is the Dixie Chicks did an awesome cover of "Landslide". And Natalie is soooo hot!!!! Again, I'm drunk.
