If your boyfriend just told you that he loved you last night and today you asked him what he rated you on a scale of one to ten, ten being the highest, and he said that you were an eight. How would that make you feel? Yeah, he was being honest, but wow, what a slap in the face. What do you think women?

As a disclaimer you should have told him that his life depended on you being a 10 or above. If you told him to be honest with you, and he did, then don't be angry with him. He only did what you told him to do. Men are like that.
I would return the favor though. I'd tell him that I rated him at the very least a 7.5...and then polish it off with an I Love You. If he gets offended, then tell him that honesty is the best policy. Also advise him that when you become a 15 on the scale then he will definitely be a 10.5 in your eyes...

Why would you even ask that question. If he told you that he loves you, then he does. Men just dont' throw that phrase around. Are you sure he wasn't joking? Ask him again, not what he rates you; but how he feels about your relationship. If you want to know what your boyfriend thinks of you, asking him to rate you on a scale is not really accurate.

There is no right way for a guy to answer that question. If he ranks you too high you'd probably get upset that he made a joke out of your question, if he ranks you too low you of course get upset that he doesn't value you the way you hoped he would. I would consider this answer in the context of how he treats you and other things he has said to you. If this is just another crummy event in a long line of crummy moments with him, then it stinks. If this is the worst thing he's done then it's not so terrible.

Yeah, my next question to him would be, "Who would you rate a 10?" Or "What would it take to be a ten in your book?" Maybe he just rates that way. Maybe he doesn't give anything a ten unless it's on a cosmic ultimate perfect level. Tell him you rate him a seven and see if he feels flattered or insulted.
