I train with BJ Penn over here in Hawaii and something that helped me was doing what we call "Fight Gone Bad" circuit training. Basically we combine cardio workouts with light weights, medicine ball, etc.. for 5 min rounds switching each exercise every minute with one minute rest between rounds. 2-3 rounds a few times a week should suffice. It boosts your endurance dramatically. You can find a lot of the exercises on crossfit.com. I am in no way in a position to question your technique because I do not know you or have not experienced your skill as a martial artist. If anyone tells you otherwise they are a fool and you shouldn't worry about what their cocky egos have to say. I really hope this can be of benefit to you. P.S. Bushido has been attacking me recently and to elaborate why I don't criticize your technique is because maybe the guy you fought has a strong neck or had his chin down and I don't know what choke you had him in. From what I read from your question is that you got tired and I thought that is why you asked the question. That is why I recommended this type of training which gives you explosive energy when you need it the most(fight gone bad) Aloha

I am in agreement with Bushido. your technique is in question. it shouldnt rely on pure power alone, but correct placement.

:the object of the choke is to stop the blood flow to the brain firstly, and pain is just a bonus. change your mindset and focus on stopping the flow. no O2 means a quick nap, or a quick tap.

as awkward as this may seem try an endurance workout, like yoga.
OR, do a push up that stregthens your wrist, core, and upper body.
put your feet on a couch as if you were gonna do a push up, as you come up flip your wristsso that your palms face your face and do a push up like that then flip your wrsts back over and continue in five sets of ten, make sure you rest in between each set to give muscles a time to rip and heal.

using ur hands or clothing ?
you gotta get his adam's apple to be at the tip of the triangle and squueez the side arteries, mayb your arm is too big and is giving him more cushion then pressure if you know what i mean.

in that case you can always youse ur fingers to dig into his neck.
