I have slightly crowded teeth but not terrible but im planning on getting ceramic braces(white ones)... for you girls... can it be somewhat cute or just plain unattractive

It might be largely invisible with white ceramic braces. But seriously, the point is not what you look like with your braces, but how they will make your teeth look after they have been taken off.
And the crowded teeth can be very, very unattractive after they start to rot where they face each other because they are too tight to floss effectively. I usually end up picking tiny fibers from the floss out of my teeth, they are that tight in places. And have wide gaps in other places from the cavities! This is what happens when you learn to hate and fear the dentist as a child, and can always use the excuse that you can't afford one.

I'm a guy, so take this or leave it. I'm 42 and wear braces. It makes me self conscious, and I feel unattractive. But guess what - other people, and yes, women, have no problem with the braces at all. They say they hardly notice them. They say if I didn't mention the braces, they wouldn't have thought about it one way or the other. So it's all up to you: be confident in your braces, and the girls won't notice them. Act "defective" because you have braces, and they'll find you defective. And definitely get the braces if you have a bad bite. If it's just for vanity, I dunno, maybe you should be happy with what nature gave you. But if your teeth are a mess and not functionally aligned, the few years with braces in yor 20's will be soooooooo worth it when you're in your 40's or older. Wish I'd done it when I was your age. As long as they are not the metal type! Those are so dorky! Some people cannot afford them until they are older and/or get insurance, but who cares. You will soon have a beautiful smile and that will be the best confidence booster. If you have a girl now, she will stick by you and love your new smile. If girls think that it is unattractive, that is their opinion. I know everyone does not think so, because there are some girls who will look past appearance and notice your face, your soul, and what kind of heart you have. But if having braces is a NO-NO for her, then of course she will say no. But go for a girl who wants your personality. The braces will come off eventually and you will still be the same person you are now. Good luck!

I am 25yo female and got ceramic braces put on two weeks ago. I think its fantastic your getting braces and not at all unattractive. Its better to spend a year or two with them on than a lifetime of smiling with your lips closed. Girls find a guy taking positive steps to improve his health and oral hygiene much more attractive than one who has horrible teeth and does nothing about it.
And braces don't get in the way of any dating related activities.

If you need those braces, get them! My daughter had braces, and she has the most beautiful teeth now. It is worth it, you will only have them on for a couple of years and your teeth will be so straight later. Straight teeth make a real difference in how you look.

Being a twenty year old girl, my opinion about this will likely be respected by you. Braces on guys are very cute! (Metal braces, and ceramic)

dont listen to the first guy...hes an ***! there is nothing wrong with having braces at 21! im 21 and im about to get mine. you'll be absolutely fine and even if they are unattractive, think about how your teeth will look afterwards.

This question has been debated a lot on our message board. What we've found is that in general women don't mind braces on men. Do a query on our message board and you'll see what other women say about it.

Work those braces. Nothing is as attractive as confidence.

Who cares what people think after they come out you'll have better teeth than some people. It'll be an upgrade for your appearance.
