I don't think cats can catch human flu. At least not the strains that are around now. If he has symptoms similar to flu then he probably has something cased by either the Calicivirus or Herpesvirus. These two viruses cause flu like symptoms. In any event your cat needs to be taken to the vet as soon as possible.

Ok if you are talking about the cat flu then this is what you need to make sure you take her to the vet so they can test for the flu.
When they test for the flu they take a mouth swab thats tested to see where the virus is growing and to also identify it. The thing that sucks about this is there are no drugs to kill these viruses so you pretty much just have to watch your cat through the illness and just kind of be there for him/her. They will most likely give you antibiotics to treat any other infections that can be life threatening to your cat. If your cat has nasal discharge and a hard time breathing they will also give you drugs to help loosen the discharge and make it easy for your cat to breath. Most likely if you cat really does have the flu it probably wont eat so you might need to offer warmed, smelly and palatable food. If that doesn't work you might have to feed your cat liquid food through a syringe but thats a pain to do. I'm guessing your cat isn't that sick, but I hope it gets better :)

By flu do you just me he has a respiratory infection. In cats lot of times those are caused by viruses and for viruses alone they usually do nothing except for supportive care (like fluids if the cat gets dehydrated). Most healthy cats should recover fine (however some viruses can be really bad). Sometimes there can be secondary bacterial infections and the vet will give antibiotics. untill you see a vet make sure he is eating and drinking ok. keep him inside.
