Ok, first I don't know what you have in your PC but I am assuming you don't know much about PC gaming requirements and Puters. No problem..read on. It's in detail, kinda long, but it WILL help you!

I have answered a similar question before and I think this applies to you too.
I received BEST ANSWER for this one..'hint hint hint' : )

Your system does not meet the requirements for the game. On the box of games that you buy, there is a label describing what kind of PC you need to play. The label usually says "Minimum requirements" and "Recommended".

"Minimum requirements" is playable but may have lag and such.
"Recommended" is what the game was designed for or better.

To play all the recent games, sad to say, you have to upgrade or buy new puters once a year or maybe two. I game a lot and require a good system. I upgrade about every 6 to10 months.

Like me and many others, I think money is an issue for you eh. PC gaming is very expensive but so~ nice if you can keep up. Here are a few tips to upgrading/buying a puter...

Try calling local PC stores, suppliers, Internet/gaming cafes, etc to see if they have any used parts that you need. Find other gamers! There are a lot of people out there that DO have the money and get all the latest gear, and guess who can buy their used stuff for cheap? Have them install for you. MAKE SURE IT WORKS BEFORE YOU WALK AWAY!

If you buy from Ebay and such, buy with caution. Check 'return item' policy. I ALWAYS buy from Ebay stores/Powersellers. Mostly safe but not 100%. I never had problems but know peps that had.

You need to research what you need and can afford. Check pricewatch.com and other sites for current prices and reviews. I read Maximum PC for info. Figure out what you can afford and but the best/fastest.

Check PC Gamer for their "Hard Stuff" article. It gives you an idea what parts are good for an entry-level machine to the $3000 Dream Machine. I have based two PCs I made before by the articles.

If you need more assistance, send a message to me : )

Good luck to you....game on!!!

How old is your computer? World of Warcraft simply won't run on any computer that doesn't have at least 1GHz of processor speed, a modern non-integrated video card, and half a gigabyte of RAM. If you don't meet those minimums, it's unlikely that you can upgrade the computer you have. Parts for computers that old simply aren't available anymore. I'd suggest buying a new computer.

If, on the other hand, you DO meet those minimums and the game is still giving you errors, you should call Blizzard Tech Support.

Well--my guess is that you don't have enough RAM. I haven't installed WOW in a very long time, but I believe the installation gives you the option to install the game anyway. Keep in mind, it's not going to run smoothly if you don't have enough memory--just make sure your system meets the rest of the requirements and you should be fine (we played Burning Crusade with half of the "required" memory--it got a little choppy at times but it was nothing we couldn't handle). Otherwise, you'll need to upgrade your system to get more memory. Hope this helps, good luck! ~Scottie

Buy a better computer, yours is to old to play it.

Here are the needed requirements as of the latest expansion:

Operating System: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP Or MAC OS 10.3.5 or Higher / Original World of Warcraft must be installed and up to date with all patches.

Processor: 800MHz
Video Card: 32MB 32 Graphics Card
Disk Space: 4GB Free Hard Drive Space
RAM: 256MG
DirectX: 9.0C or Above

Those are quite low requirements for modern games, if you plan to continue playing modern PC games you definitely need to buy a new one.

Upgrading RAM is fairly easy. You'd just have to find out what kind and speed your computer uses, make sure there's an empty slot in your computer and go buy more.

CPU Speed isn't as easy to upgrade (I've built 4 or 5 computers and I still feel very nervous handling a naked processor).

Sounds like you need a new computer :/

Upgrade your computer. Either buy a new one (expensive) or upgrade the parts that need to be better (less expensive, but still so).

There are guides on the internet for upgrading both. If you're not handy in the technology area you can take your computer in to a computer repair shop and they should be able to help you out.

Time to upgrade your computer from the 286. Something with a little more horsepower than 4 MHz.

Seriously though, looks like you need a beefier comp.

You need to get a bigger hard drive and RAM capacity and as a result your CPU speed will increase.

You could probably start by upgrading your RAM and CPU (hardware) and/or getting a new computer. Get off the wallet and get yourself up to date. :]
