The answer depends on how you define large. If you are referring to height, then the Irish Wolfhound is the largest. If you are thinking about weight, a mastiff is the largest. Irish wolfhounds are not of uniform height -- so you will find examples where a great dane is larger than a wolfhound. Leonbergers are also very tall. The literature from the dog world is in agreement, however, and the Irish Wolfhound is best able to scrarf food from the top of the fridge.

According to the American Kennel Club, the largest breed of dog is the English Mastiff (also known as the Old English Mastiff). Mastiffs are the heaviest dog, but not the tallest. The tallest is the Irish Wolfhound. The tallest Wolfhound was a recorded 5 foot high at its shoulders. The source link will give you additional info as well.

if you mean by weight an English Mastiff is a pretty huge dog! I heard of one being about 250!
And tall wise, a Great Dane or Irish Wolfhound are pretty big as well!
