There is no heirarchy in the Trinity. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are seperate and at the same time one. God "sent" his Son yet Jesus was "filled" with the Holy Spirit. Jesus then "passed" the Spirit on to his apostles. Jesus is "sitting" at the right hand of the father, yet no one comes to the Father "except through him". So it would seem that there would be some order in there importance but this is just the way the Bible explains each part of the Trinity as it affects us. Remember that it is only "One God" in "Three Persons", and that each part plays a differnt role in your salvation. And your salvation is what God wants, no matter if it is God the Father, Jesus the Son or the Holy Spirit

Many people mistake the word Lord to mean absolute power.That is not the meaning of the word -Lord means a person who has general authority over others - it does not mean always the all powerful.....
Nowadays in some Christian churches it is taught that Jesus IS God.... There is no where in the bible where Jesus says he IS God - he only says he is a part of God and that God is in him.....that they are the same in many respects... see
Mark 10:18
......Why callest me good?There is non good but one, that is God......
As for Matthew 28:18 - it states "all power is GIVEN unto me......"
Jesus was GIVEN the power by God - HIS father.....
I do not know when the idea of Jesus being the EXACT SAME person as GOD started, and I do not know what churches all preach this idea - yet having studied Christian history - Jesus was first thought of as the Jewish Messiah - and the holy ghost being a spirit of God that works mainly through Jesus.
And that is how I believe and is how I read the bible to be - I have yet to come across anywhere in the bible where Jesus states plain and to the point that he IS GOD.
Jesus states that he has a father in heaven and he even prays to this father.
I most admit that I do not believe that we humanes are meant to understand EXACTLY how Jesus, the Holy spirit and God are related - we can only go by what is written in the bible and even that leaves many questions unanswered. That is where faith comes in - do you believe that Jesus is the savior or not - every person has the right to answer that according to their own beliefs.
Mark 14:62
.....see the son of man setting on the right hand of power { = God}
Mark 10:40
Mark 8:38
Mark 6:4
Matthew 28:18
Matthew 26:53
Matthew 11:25 - 27
There are many more which I could type here, but time is late and so I will simply answer your question and you shall have to study more to figure out what YOU believe and how you desire to view the relationship between God, Jesus and the holy spirit...
Jesus , in my opinion, is almost equal to God because GOD has allowed him to be. Jesus is not over God -
Please study the bible yourself more and pay attention to the words and think of what they mean.
Years ago I myself was in your situation and spent time coping everything I could find in the bible concerning this topic - if I ever find those sheets of paper - I will gladly e-mail you and send copies... Yet I have no idea if I even still have them now { I am talking years ago here - I am not a young one anymore!}
Take care and if I did not help with your answer - then I pray that someone else here does a better job with it!

There is no ranking. All three are parts of one whole, therefore they can't be compared with each other. The "whole" is indeed the all-powerful Lord. Lord God, Lord Jesus, the Spirit of our Lord.
Salvation is not something anyone else can ask God to give you, by the way. It's a gift, and only you can choose to recieve it.
However, I will pray for you as you wrestle with these issues. The concept of the trinity is difficult to grasp for everybody.

I am not sure why your question was posted twice. See the other posting for scriptural ranking. Understand, however, that the trinity is a manmade teaching and NOT a Bible teaching. Therefore ranking either God or Jesus with the holy spirit in any sort of godhead situation would not be scriptural.

Well there is the Father the Son(Jesus) and the Holy Spirit, usually called the Trinity. They are all individuals while at the same time one person, so they would be "ranked" equally

God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one. There are many things that we cannot fathom and I believe that this is one of them. It is beyond our limited comprehension.
We can't put God in a box or say that unless we comprehend it is isn't so. I am not saying that we just just have blind faith either. The bible is the place to get faith Rom10:17 and answers 2 tim3:16-17. The word will equip you for every good work.

Jesus was "Lord" to the people of that time, and his message from God was intended for his followers. He was the only way back to the kingdom of heaven in that day and age.. He was sent by God as the guide for all those who were ready to return home.. His message was not meant to imply that he was the ony way for all of mankind for all time. He was not God. He respresented the spirit of God by virtue of the Sound Current that flowed through him. The Word Made Flesh.

To me, God, Jesus, Mary, and the Holy Spirit are all equal. There really is no rank between them.

I understand why you would be confused. There are not three separate gods. it is one. The Son, Father and Ghost are jost job titles if you will. Like my name is Daniel. So I am Daniel the student, Daniel the wrestler and Daniel the boyfriend. The three titles just describes God's three purposes or responsibilities.
