I had my wisdom teeth removed monday and last night I felt something sticking out of my inner side of my jaw, against where your tounge is. Today its semi broke through and it looks white/ivory and is hard.

Is this very common for some dentist to miss parts of the tooth? I am having a lot more complications with this removal then my other, they had to drill this tooth to get it out.
Its so aggrivating, I can feel it UGH!

I also wanted to ask if the dentist will remove it or leave it in to be removed by iteself. I want to demand him take it out since I beleive he did leave a piece in.

Thanks

could be a piece of tooth or more likely sounds like a piece of bone.

it all has to do with the exposure and the rate you heal.

I will try my best to explain as it was explained to me; once air hits the bone it is actually dead for example like if you had a dry socket where the blood clot was removed before the gum healed up around the tooth and there was a hole there exposing the bone.

The body naturally has a way of getting rid of that 'dead bone' (forgetting actual term) so it will/can work itself out. that is if that is bone not tooth.

go back to your dentist, they will take a x-ray and check it out.

often a small mm size bone can feel utterly huge

it happens.

DEAR WHITE TRASH BEAUTIFUL,
THIS SMALL FRAGMENT IS MOST LIKELY A SMALL PIECE OF BONE. THIS IS COMMON IF THE TOOTH HAD TO BE DRILLED TO BE TAKEN OUT.
KEEP AN EYE ON IT FOR A FEW DAYS, IT WILL PROBABLY WORK ITSELF LOOSE.
IF NOT, GO BACK TO THE DENTIST WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF IT.

That's a bone spur. Not uncommon. If it's really small you can pull it out with some tweezers. Don't force it...call the dentist if you can't get it out.

It will have to pop out on its possess but when you'll dispose of it then do it. I had anything like that occur. I could not transfer mine. It used to be nonetheless connected to The gum. Hurt like hell for per week.

dont worry about it all you have to do is leave it alone or you can take it out by yourself but i suggest you leave it there because the new tooth will come and push it out of it place so dont worry about it and pain i know how it felt so just leave it alone
