I'm talking about a guy that is quiet, but he's not a dork or anything....He seems really different from other guys personality-wise.

It is never that simple. Men are from Mars, Women from Venus. Where do you normally see him? Coffee house, school, work...? The quiet ones are usually different. Sometimes in a good way, other times in a bad way. Observe him for awhile. Does he hang out alone? With friends?
Don't be too forward. Opportunity will come knocking. Keep in mind that even after you get to talk to him, that you might not like him or he you. If you are curious about him, then find a way to get close to him and start a simple conversation with the use of a question. Ask him for the time. If at a coffee house, ask him what he feels is the best blend.
If you are lucky, then he'll catch you observing him and observe right back atcha! Have fun with this one.

Aw...I think I know what type you're talking about..is it the good looking but down to earth type?...but the guy is still shy when it comes to the ladies?.....if so, just be yourself-attain goals, could be he is goal oriented, and just be down to earth as well. Don't be nasty nor desperate; or gossipy-guys like that hate girls with drama or sluts! How would I know?....the man I am secretely in love with has the same type of personality-he is quiet; but not geeky....and what I love is this type of personality-he knows how to treat a lady. He has chivalry!

well that's depend because of how she looks some wemen think
they r can look anyhow and the man suppose to love them. wrong
men love middle weight wemen for instance if you 5-7" weight much be 120/130/140.
men love when wemen always do they hair nails and smell good
look good. but some wemen once they r have a baby , they stop looking (fat) never take good care of themselves. that's why alots of relationships has ended. because where there's no feelings cannot have love.

for the most part, the "different" ones are the agressive jerks you girls seem to go for. y'know, the "hes sooo cute and hot" ones that leave you as a 19 year old single mom.

He has to have an interest in dating. (he might be too immature)
He has to have some physical attraction. (he might not have noticed you, or you don't pique his interest)
He has to have the confidence in himself that he could be in a successful relationship. (he may think you are out of his league)
He may need a nudge in the right direction, or a not so subtle hint that you have an interest in him. (he might be clueless)
