Let's say that he did exist, even if you don't believe that. Would you respect what he did on Earth as a person?

I do, well, I consider him as a well-known and wise man, not a super-awesome, all-powerful Christ

If he did exist (which is 50-50), then he is probably nothing like he is described in the bible. I think Paul wanted to rally everyone behind his new church, made up some stuff about Jesus to fulfill prophecy, and the rest is history. So, he may have been just another crazed self-proclaimed messiah, in which case I don't respect him, or just some guy with some good ideas in which case I would.

Im not really an atheist, but I would say that most of the things Jesus preaches in the Bible are good thngs such as helping the poor and turnin the other cheek.

Yes
I respect anyone who brings a message of love to the world... whether I believe some of the religious aspects or not.

Being a Christian I cannot answer this for myself - yet I can answer it for my oldest sister - whom is an atheist.
She believes that Jesus was a real person -and that he was someone that did good in his life towards others..... nothing more....

Yes, I do. I respect him as a good human being who did his best to teach people how to live by the natural laws. Unfortunately, people twisted his teachings, falsified stories about him, and created religion in his name.

I respect his message of love, acceptance, non-judgement, helping and sharing with those who lack . . .
now if only "Christians" respected his message . . .
we wouldn't have hatemongers tellling people who they can marry or not, who can have and raise kids or not, who can love each other or not, etc. all in the name of Jesus.
Did they ever even crack open the book?

I'd like to know where he was and what he was doing between ages 12 through 30... ah, those rebellious years.

What did he do as a person? By all accounts, he was nothing more than a radical rabbi who pissed off the Romans.

Do we have to respect everyone that the Romans crucified?
