i think that once Bush is out, we will see a change. Bu the change will be gradual. I won't be all at once. All we can do is hope and pray that all the troops make it home safe and sound.

I think if the next Pres is a Democrat, they'll finally get their wish and they wont hesitate to begin withdrawing troops. As soon as that happens, the Islamic radicals will see that as a "victory" over the "U.S. devils" and chaos will reign. Plus, Iran and Syria will have virtually free roam and the fundamentalist movement will sweep the region even more than it is now. The Iraqi govt is still in its fledgling state and needs time, effort and opportunity to REALLY take hold and start regulating its people. Once they begin to effectively do that, they'll have a better chance of weeding out all the crooked cops and soldiers, and begin to have an effective element to enforce the laws and keep the peace. That translates to quelling the Iranian and Syrian threat, squashing the internal violence, and stabilizing the region. All of this definitely wont happen overnight, but it CAN happen. That being said, the only plausible way to enable it to happen is for coalition forces to continue to fight for it. So for all those who oppose Bush, the "surge", the war and the ideals, think about this: if we leave now there will be a thousand Saddams all vying for power. Most will be against each other, but they will ALL be against us!
Still think it's a good idea to leave? I certainly don't.

people are stupid if they think they're gonna see change, when Bush leaves, other conflicts are gonna start, we still have China, Iran, North Korea to deal with. And if we are still in Iraq when Bush leaves, and if the new president decides to pull out, that will be a big mistake because things will get worst and we will have to go back again in a worst situation, so people who want us to pull out, don't support our troops because that will hurt the troops even more, people are just too dumb and ignorant to understand that.
I support Bush, i respect the guy, he has courage and makes tough decisions. He is a good tough leader.

Sure it will it changes daily.I am a independent voter who voted for bush. When I told my Mom about my choice I told her I voted for the lesser of two evils. At 93 she is still sharp and her answer was "Son one can not vote for the lesser of two evils---for Evil is Evil" That said Bush will dramatically change the course of the war before the next election. after all the Repubs want to stay in office.and the Dems will say any thing to get them out .It is all politics nether side give a damn about who votes for them other than the ones who can afford to pay them off.

40 years ago, we thought the war in Vietnam would be over once L. Johnson was out of office. Richard Nixon promised to get us out. (Study your history before you argue with me about it.) Guess what. It didn't happen. We were stuck for nearly 6 more years. It doesn't matter what the candidate for President says, they will find things much different when they are finally in the Oval Office.
Keep dreaming. Vote for change. But don't hold your breath.

Nope, politicians on both sides are using the issue or leaving Iraq to get elected or bolster support, but in the end no one will just pull all the troops and abandon Iraq if it is not stable.

NO. If we leave, Iraq will disintegrate. We really need to stay there. If the job isn't finished, you don't quit. You think the situation is bad now, just wait until the democrats take over. Then the nightmare begins.
