My small kitten was diagnosed with distemper and after my effort from the vet lived. He was sick for quite some time and had a very high fever. I have noticed that he isn't growing very fast and has some motor skill problems and i am wondering if this is due to the disease?

I am so sorry about your kitty. The kitty is very lucky that it is still alive. Your vet should know the answers to your questions, but it sure sound like this is due to the disease.

Illness can cause stunted growth in animals. Chances are that your cat has some sort of brain damage. Watch for that and be careful just in case the disease makes him bite because of the damage. Chances are that will not happen but I can almost guarantee there is some sort of brain damage.

Very young animals can bounce back to health and overcome many adverse effects of illnesses. Don't lose hope... just give kitty nutritious food, regular exercise, a happy life and get regular vet check ups.
