Sounds like you already don't trust this guy. I'd go with my instincts. Check him out first. Is he is a reputable breeder listed with a recognizable registry or an indiscriminate breeder? Even then get references from him that you can easily follow up on. Not just by a phone call, go to their homes and look at other pups. If he's in a reasonable distance, go to his place with another person and check this "Yorkie" out for yourself. If he wants to meet somewhere, forget it and look elsewhere for a Yorkie. You can never be too cautious. Bottom line don't trust him. A responsible breeder only takes a deposit first, then upon delivery you remit the rest. Never use cash, use a money order, a check, etc., something you can get your money back from if things go wrong. This way you have proof of payment. Is he offering papers with the puppy? Anyone can get these registry type papers for animals, but their worthless in many cases. If your wanting a pure breed look into the AKC (American Kennel Club), the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) or any like these that are recognized. Contact them, they can help you find a reputable breeder in your area also. Some breeders sell both show and non-show (pet) quality puppies. Doing some homework can save you time and money. Lastly if you don't mind a pound puppyor an older dog, look in animal shelters, the humane society, and Yorkie rescue leagues for non pedigree Yorkie's. These animals all need someone to love and be loved by. Below are some Yorkie rescue sties.

No! Never ever give money to someone for an animal until you have actually seen the animal and spent time with it. (Very rare exceptions for hard to find, exotic animals, or an animal that is champion bred)
The fact that he says he is Christian sends up and BIG red flag!
Scammers will often say that when setting someone up because they think it will help earn your trust. If they feel the need to say things for the purpose of gaining your trust it is because YOU SHOULDN'T TRUST THEM!!!! Another big red flag are the words Western Union. Did they tell you to send the money that way? I bet they did! (Write them back and tell them you sent the money. Give them a fake account number control number so they look like a complete idiot when they show up and there is no money there for them - see ebolamonkeyman.com for more amusing tactics)
Yorkies are pretty popular dogs. Check your local paper for a reputable breeder. You should be able to go to their house and see the puppy and spend time with it before deciding whether or not to buy it. If they still have several from a litter that haven't been adopted yet, you can choose the one you want. You should be able to see the puppy's parents too, or at least the mother. It will cost you a lot less too than $240 and you will actually have a puppy to show for it.

Wow, I did not know you could get a Yorkie for that cheap! (sarcastically) Who cares if he is supposed to be Christian, and where is the rest of your post? Christians lie and rip people off just like any other person. They are human too. I would not send him anything. He sounds like he just wants your money and is going to rip you off. And claiming to be Christian makes him what? Honest? I don't think so! Yorkie puppies normally go from $400-$1,000, and even more for show/AKC dogs. But Yorkies are expensive no matter where you get them. My fiance's cousin got a Maltest-Yorkie mix from a shelter where she was rescued and they paid $750 for her. And she is a MIX! So just imagine how much the real deal would be. And also, Yorkies are in high demand and tend to get stolen a lot! My fiance's aunt had her Yorkie stolen by her own neighbor!

Where did you meet this guy? How long have you known him? When a man asks you to send them money (and, don't worry guys, a woman will do it, too!!!), don't do it. Tell him you would really love to help him out but the problem you are having is, if he doesn't have the money for the puppy, he shouldn't be getting one because they require shots, grooming, neuter/spay and various other expenses. Also, tell him it's your policy not to give money out because you tend to lose friends that way. Then, lose him because he is not a friend. A Christian man would not ask someone for money for a pup, if he is a true Christian.

Unless you've seen the dog, the facility it comes from I wouldn't. People say a lot of things to get your money regardless of what religion they claim to be.
I was selling my engagement ring and had several people interested offering to pay the asking price but sent me a fake address etc.
People do strange things. Find a local breeder, ask lots of questions, tour the facility and pick out the puppy YOU want, not one someone wants to give you.
Don't trust anyone because unfortunatly not everyone can be trusted.
GOOD LUCK

nope cuz if you send him money then you won't be getting a dog, all dog breeders take the money at the time of you getting the dog, in person, this has scam written all over it, and i'm sure the whole i'm a Christian thing is something he is using to get you to trust him (not saying any other belief is bad either) tell him if he wants to sell you a puppy then you want to do this in person, bet you'll never hear from him again.

No! It is a scam. Yorkies are rather expensive and if he was really selling a puppy it would be gone by now. He would not be trying to get you to send him money. Don't do it.

Is he a breeder? What breeding organization does he belong to. Breeders are licensed and their litter is registered. If he is a f.....back yard breeder, don't get the puppy, because it could have a messed up blood line and big health issues. Only buy from a good breeder to get a healthy puppy.
If he is for real, he would call himself a breeder and not a christian, because this is not relevant when buying a puppy.

Has he given you a reason not to believe him. not everyone is dishonest. i raise bichons and people send their 200 deposits to me all the time to reserve their babies. i've never let anyone down and i've never had anyone not trust me. i don't know the situation with this guy, but ask for references from his past customers and really talk to them...if you're not sure .
he could very well be a scammer, however he could very well just as easily not be???
as for being a Christian...don't base your decision on that...it's usually the ones who have to throw that in your face that are the furtherest from it. was it thrown in your face? if so and if he went over kill with it..then i'd be suspicious. if you're a christian you can be one without having to speak a word. your actions speak louder than words so watch out for anyone who carries on about it.... they're usually just full of poop!... ya know kind of like George Bush!! false witnesses are in abundance in this day and age.... so i wouldn't let that play a part in my decision to send the money or not to. good luck.
