I am designing/making a model of a building which can be multiple stories. One of the requirements is that one room receive maximum direct daylight to the floor between 12 noon and 2p on Dec 21... which fascade should most windows be, how high, and which story should the room be on? I guess the location is in central IL.

Hi. The window will receive maximum light on December 21st (when the sun is lowest in the sky in the northern hemisphere) when it's location is at an angle equal to it's latitude.
