you're all right, but she said it looked "as if she had drank a lot of soda", she never said that's all she drank. Read thoroughly before answering.

The darker your urine the less you are retaining in fluids.
When you are sick, don't just drink soda. Soda has caffeine which acts as a diuretic. It actually reduces the amount of fluid you are keeping in your system.
Try drinking water, juices, popsicles, koolaid instead of soda.
If you have fever, you will need to drink twice as many fluids to make up for the fluids you lose while you are sweating from the fever.

Well,
Your pee is only yellow when you don't have enough water in your system.
You need to drink more water and less soda.
Especially if you are sick.
Your pee is actually supposed to be clear.

If your pee is a darker yellow, that means that you are not drinking enough. I would drink less soda and more water. Also, drink some cranberry juice. That's good for you too.

your pee gets darker when you are sick because of all the contaminents that are being flushed from your system. The fever is killing the germs and tehy eventually get flushed out. BTW if you are sick soda is not what you should be drinking...water or warm tea...green tea preferably.

It is simple...when you are drinking a lot of liquids...water, tea etc, ...and I mean alot, your urine will be very light yellow to almost colorless. When you first get up in the morning and haven't voided all night, your urine is strong smelling and usually very yellow.
When you have been ill, your body is ridding itself of the toxins and urea building up in your kidneys which are the filters for your body.

It's because you tend to dehydrate when you have a fever. And when you dehydrate, your urine is more concentrated, and therefore darker. Be sure you keep your fluid intake up. It will help you feel better.
Hope you get well soon!

Pee is yellow. If your fever goes away and you pee turns another color, say crimson, see your doctor at once.
