My mom constantly smokes cigs, and I never go outside, I'm always in the house. I have (Lately) been coughing like crazy to the point where I have even passed out, but when I tell my mom about it she calls me a wimp and tells me to shut up and stop whining about her smoking, but I really can't breathe!!
Could this be asthma?? I keep getting these breathing problems and I can't talk to my mom about it b/c she's a total b*tch that won't listen, could this be asthma???

Second-hand smoke can weaken the lungs so much that yes, it can be the cause of an asthma attack. Check with your local health Department for written materials to be sent to you or your mother. Go to the doctor to explain to him about your mothers smoking and your lungs and maybe he will tell the b****th, maybe not. It is something that is endangering a child and thats what the Department of Childrens Services is for (to reduce that). If your doctor does not feel willing to tell your mother then have him contact Department of Childrens Services. If he doesn't you can--its anonymous.

You can develop asthma for any number of reasons, but what you are asking is can second hand smoke trigger an asthmatic attack. The answer is yes.
See your doctor about your breathing difficulties, and do so ASAP. Then ask your doctor for help with your mother.
Get out of the house once in a while. It's good for everyone. If your doctor can't help you directly with your mother, then s/he may be able to help indirectly, by reporting this problem to your local children's and family services department, whatever that name may be. This is causing you problems with your health, and in that regards, it's no different from any other type of child abuse or neglect.

My brother is an asthmatic and after ten years his asthma has shown no sign of improving. He has been to several doctors but they didn't help much.
If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.

You can develop asthma at any time during your life if your lungs are constantly irritated by a foreign object (smoke).
So yes, you can develop asthma from second hand smoke.
And you will need to be treated before you have a major asthma attack. If you are having trouble breathing, a visit to the doctor is needed.

You can develop asthma like symtoms or any of smokers related problems from second hand smoke, depending on how small of a home you have. Why don't you get a chest xray and speak to your doctor? Spend more time in your room and try to convince her to smoke downstairs only?

You can't get asthma from second hand smoke but it can irritate asthma if you already have it. You may want to talk to a trusted adult other than your mom. Second hand smoke can cause problems for you as if you were a smoker.

No, you cannot develop asthma
But your lungs may be irritated by the smoke
Tell the ***** to smoke outside, even if you have to throw the untrue "facts" about second-hand smoke at her.
At the very least, let her know she'll never be able to sell the house if it smells like ciggs.
