As a married couple with earned income credit etc. you will do better filing together and claiming your kids as dependents together. You maybe want to verify with a tax specialist in your area that can better advise you on the strategies for your own state.
Peace!
PS - many couples find that a second income often pays for the time you both spend outside of the house? Daycare or after school babysitting, car expenses for your both, eating out for lunches? Many families have been coming to this realization recently, it seems.

Not really enough information to give a definitive answer but you have already given a public forum quite enough info about yourself!
There are very few occasions where it makes sense to file separately. If you filed separately, you could take the EIC if it weren't for that pesky IRS rule that denies EIC to married filing separately.
If you are doing your return yourself and you inpout the information accurately (right down to allocating income and deductions between you and your wife) the program will calculate the best way to file. I can almost guarantee it will be joint by several thousand dollars.

Without exceptional large deductions for each to claim, married joint filing is best. Married filing separately means not being able to claim a lot of tax credits.

It is always better to file Married filing Jointly.
They take many deductions away from you if you file separate.

Not enough information. Generally it is better to file joint.
Best option is to by tax prep software and calculate it both ways.

Probably jointly. You could ask somebody who knows.
You're not poor unless you have nothing. Sounds like you have plenty. You have a family and two jobs; you can't beat that.
