Your best bet is to contact the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs http://www.immi.gov.au/ and find out what the requirements are for various visa classes (and whether or not you fulfill the requirements).

Australia is a socialistic society, Im sure there is something there for you to get you children over in Australia. They will fall in the category of first preference. There are agency in Australia that can help you with the process before you launch the petition. I am not sure where you live but when I was there I had seen one at Surfers Paradise, they are located in the 2nd floor of Raptis Plaza. I wish you all the best in getting your children over to live near you. My heart goes to you as I am in a similar situation here in USA, my two sons are in Brisbane, age 34 and 35 with family but because of their ages I cannot sponsor them and I miss them sooooo much, I go there twice a year to visit them and my grandchildren.

I agree that you need to contact the Dept. of Immigration. It certainly is getting harder and harder to get residency in Australia. A promised job would help but these days even marrying an Australian doesn't guarantee residency here. Good luck to you all.
