I got dumped about a year and a half ago. It was during one of the hardest transitions anyone could make; from high school to college. It effected my grades becuase I couldn't concintrate on anything else. I just recently got over her but it was too late. I've been dismissed from school and just got fried from my job. I mostly don't feel like getting out of bed. I know I have to do something so I'll go to the gym an work out. I feel happy sometimes but mostly just really sad and alone. Often think of death but would never kill myself. I just wish something would take my life. Also I have been trying to find a girlfriend after almost two years but with no luck at all. I feel so alone. Am i depressed or just going through a phase. I feel depressed and have been told to see a shrink. I just want to feel happy again.

**** you to the guy that questions my intelligence becuase I don't feel the need to proof read everything I type. Yeah I got into college and I'm in Computer Science! Stick that in your smug pipe and smoke that you Russian pole smoker! Well that made me feel a little better. Yes I'm over her! Why do women always question that? I wasn't about 4 months ago but I am now. I'm more depressed becuase I can't find someone else and that I've been kicked out of school! And I've tried to seek God. It didn't work and I lived with some guys that work with kids to help find God. I attended a camp and several bible studies. Evidently only one person that answered truly knows how I feel. The rest of you are just looking for points. Now I know something to be truly depressed about. People that have less of a life than me. You should be ashamed of yourselves! I said I'm depressed so you just try to cut me down. **** YOU! EAT **** AND DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've felt like this before....go to a therapist. there are some free ones almost everywhere, or at least on a sliding fee scale. It's good that you go to the gym and work out---it gets the stress off of you. the more you move, the better it feels. but also understand that you are going through some serious life transitions right now, and it could be that the situations are making it a little hard on you. If you wanna talk, email me. Believe me, I know what it feels like to "just want to feel happy again"....it ain't pretty, especially when you are in that dark place, and happiness doesn't feel like it will ever come again. My therapist told me something that I say in my head whenever I start feeling bad: "Feelings are transient, and they fluctuate. They change, and wane and wan. You won't feel one way or another for the rest of your life, just for a period of time. We just have to go with the flow."

I am so sorry that you got dumped. Life can be tough sometimes. Try getting into another school. Maybe go to a single's group at church to meet new friends. You are right to go to the gym. Exercise can help pull you out of depression. Make a point of finding new interests. If you can't pull yourself out of the depression, go see a dr and see if the dr will give you antidepressants. Any dr can give you antidepressants-it doesn't have to be a shrink. Sometimes it is easier to see a regular dr rather than a shrink. If they put you on meds - stay on them even when you feel better. When someone has diabetes and they get meds--they begin to feel a lot better. But if the diabetic stops the med they will return to feeling bad again until the diabetic can get his diet right, etc. I kind of wonder if you might can get over this without taking medicine. But ask a dr what thinks. Take care.

I don't forget myself a author (no less than, I write) and I'm now not depressed. But frustration or even unhappiness is some thing that comes from writing, since, as any person else mentioned earlier than me, you are now not simply feeling your possess united states of americaand downs, however your characters as good. I'm an overly emotional individual, I will admit, and I get labored up over stuff that perhaps I will not. Does how writing goes for me end result my temper? I believe so. Writing is, for folks who're passionate approximately it, a sort of liberate in their innermost self, and while immediately some thing occurs and that liberate will get up on keep, it will get all bottled up. I wager that is why I name Writer's Block a sickness. You're being slowly tormented to loss of life via the strategies that you just are not able to write. Haha, so yeah. Are all writers emotional folks? I believe so. Are all of them depressed? I'm going to must disagree with that one, even though they without doubt all will also be depressed at extraordinary instances.

Are you really over her? If you were, you'd have an intense energy and desire to go out and find a new girlfriend or to just pull your life together in general. Some people also find solace in their friends and/or career/schooling. Find something you're passionate about and do it to the fullest.

If you're feeling less inspired about living a life you can only control once, take the reins of your destiny and head to a doctor's office....every day counts!

And I don't think you should rely on finding a girlfriend to overcome your depression. If you've been depressed for a long period of time you're gonna need something more than determination and the support of your friends and family, because it's possible that your brain chemistry has changed you will need therapy and medication.

I hope you get well.

Wanting to be happy again is a good start because it means you are ready to stop being sad. And you want to stop playing the loser and recover all those great things you once had. Perhaps you have died and are now in heaven where you have another chance and are starting all over again. And somewhere in here is a new girl too.
