Unless they are growing in unusually e.g. sideways or impacting against another tooth then its not a big deal...Just make sure all 4 are errupting out normally (they arent coming out side ways or whatever). The worst is if it impacts your other teeth and slowly over time the rest of your teeth will start shifting and you will have aweful looking teeth. But if they are growing out normally then its not a big deal and dont need to be removed. And it saves you $600 (that is how much it cost to remove all 4 in Canada). I only had 2 of my 4 removed because one of the 2 i removed grew in sideways that caused a gap where food could collect and as such could cause cavities in the area so it had to be removed and thank god. The other 2 grew in normally and so there was no point taking them out.

Just to let you know though, you should decide as early as possible to remove them because if you let them grow in, in full then they will extend their root to a (and around a) important nerve in your mouth (its the bottom one)...When it gets to taht point it becomes dangerous to have the wisdom tooth pulled in fear of having the side of your face paralized for life -- that is why most dentists will not want to remove it at that point because they dont want to be sued

It could be damaging. You said you haven't been to the dentist in 3 years, aren't you a little past the every 6 months see the dentist rule? For peace of mind, go to the dentist.

You'll want to schedule that dentist appointment pretty soon. Even if they don't hurt, wisdom teeth can make the rest of your teeth crooked, and cause jaw problems if they're not growing in right. Best to get them checked out.

Wisdom teeth can push your teeth out of alignment and put stress on them, causing them to break easier or causing pain along your jaw. It's a minor dental surgery to have them removed, but well worth the cost.
