Since you've had a panic attack before you know what a panic attack is like, and it sounds like you don't think this was a panic attack. Panic attacks are caused by anxiety, so if you were experiencing anxiety prior to the symptoms, then it was probably another panic attack.
If you were not experiencing anxiety, and the symptoms came out of nowhere, then the condition is tachycardia (or heart palpitations). Tachycardia can sometimes be caused by a heart arrhythmia, but since you had no other symptoms, it was probably caused by something else less worrisome. It wouldn't be a bad idea to visit the doc to get a cardiac evaluation to rule out an arrhythmia. Its not a dire emergency, but not something you should not ignore either.

I would say give it time, take it easy til you see the professional. Drugs take a little while to pass through your body completely, and it's possible that it could still be affecting you in smaller ways. I used to take Trazodone, and just HALF a pill could knock me out. So with 3 plus a muscle relaxant, your body probably sensed that it was way too sedated and sent you into a panic, making you think you were dying so that you'd get help. Also, keep in mind that you had an extremely traumatic experience. If you really believed you were dying when it happened-- then of course you're going to be anxious about everything and to want people to be around you to watch over you. I've also read somewhere that low thyroid can contribute to anxiety, so that definitely could be a possibility. Again, it's only been 2 days, so really, relax and stay in bed, watch tv, read, etc. Don't stress out your mind or your body. Sleeping helps too (if you're able to fall asleep at this point).

Is is possible that you are hyperventilating and not aware of it? I suffer from anxiety/panic attacks myself and have had similar experiences. When I call someone at these moments they tell me that I am hyperventilating, yet I am unaware of it. This would cause the feeling that you are about to die but not the other symptoms. Are you taking any medications that might be causing this? I would see your doctor soon just in case it's a circulation or heart problem. If it happens again I suggest you go to the nearest emergency room or walk-in clinic.

Maybe just a panic attack, but it also may be tachycardia (fast heart beat). You should go and get a physical.

it sounds like a panic attack. (I don't need a specific stimulus to have one, they can happen anytime anywhere for me) I get them like you described plus i get dizzy. However I would still see a doctor to be on the safe side (somethimes other things like heart problems or endocrine disorders may feel like panic attacks)

those are signs of panic attack...if you have had them before it might be possible to have more...but if the symptoms start progressing and you have pain(not just numbness)in your left arm and up your neck and in the middle of your chest(between your lungs)then that could be a heart attack.
