A mother takes her 8yr old child out of school. She never puts him back in school and doesn't educate him otherwise. He is also kept in the house and only leaves the home and is around other people every few months if not for longer. The only phone in the house is a cell phone and is kept with the mom.He is not allowed and does not use it .He literally knows noone but relatives, which he only sees when they stop by.His day consists of cleaning, and mild cooking.Physical abuse and molestation have VERY possibly occured........This child has been living this way for 7yrs.This child is 15,but only has the education and social skills of an 8yr old. What can be done to help this child? Can any charges be brought against the mother? What charges? What grounds could someone use to get custody of the child? What kind of lawyer could handle this case?......This is all true! All help would be greatly appreciated!

Go and talk to a police officers or a childcase worker or someone at the courts and tell them this! If this is real-that mother well the words are to harch for this thing, but she needs to be stopped and he needs to maybe start a home schooling thing now, since it's too late for him to get back in school, kids might make fun of him and other things! ALSO document any actions that you know of from the house inside or out! That could possly be used in court, if you happen to be going into this house for any reason...tape record what get said from the mother! that could be used as well....

So take action now and dont wait any longer! Best of luck for that child!

Well, it depends on the state the child lives in, but the first thing you would do is to call Child Protective Services. They will be able to determine if there is cause for concern. There are laws in most states that a child MUST be educated and if a child is home schooled and is not up to 'par' then they can bring charges against the parent. (depending again on which state they are in). If CPS concludes there is a problem, the child will be removed from the home and placed in foster care. If you are wanting the child, then I would suggest getting your Foster Parent license (not hard to do). They you can petition the court for temporary custody. I would get a good Family Law attorney. They are unfortunately expensive.
I wish you luck!

Yes, charges can be brought against the mother if the child has been abused. Also, there are laws about children being in school. Neglect or child endangerment might apply as well. Call the police and/or social services. As for a lawyer, look for a lawyer/firm with experience in handling child abuse/neglect cases.

Call Child Protective Services. They can go in and check this out.

Yes, charges can be brought against the Mother. Child abuse can land her in jail. And the child can be put into foster care. If you want to try for custody, you could possibly do so. Call a lawyer who deals with family law.

That is horrible get on the phone and call the authorities on this beast of a women. If that is what you know just by a visual or hearing things what is going on behind closed doors.
There is a book out and it is called the Boy Called It. I suggest you get it and read it. It was the most heart breaking thing I have ever read in my life. This little person you speak of needs a guardian angel. You be his angel and put a stop to this now.

Call the local child abuse hotline and make a complaint. You could try caling the police, but wiht out knowledge of an imminant threat to the kid, they probably will not do anything. Talk to a lawyer that specializes in family law.

Call social services since this sounds serious She would be charged with not caring for the child properly.
