I don't believe it was not stretching that causing your problems. I probably two other things that are the reason your in pain.

1. You did to a proper warm up my doing a couple very light sets of weights. IE. your doing a bench press you should to 1 or 2 warm up sets with a light weight. You should be able to do about 15 reps with said light weight. This should allow your muscle and joints to warm up and less the likelihood of damage to joints and muscles.

2. Since you haven't workout with weights for awhile your body probably produced a bit of lactic acid. usually lactic acid causes stiffness and pain in muscles but this pain is only for a brief period say for a couple of days or maybe a week.

Just hang in there if there's no serious injury (sharp pains) you should be fine.

Hahahahahahahahahaha... wait til you hit 30!!!

Kudos for exercising, shame shame shame for not stretching.

Soak in a hot tub, take a hot bath, get a massage and stretch next time. Oh yeah, better do something to work those areas lightly tomorrow or you will really hurt the next day.

You aren't old, just not in shape yet. Make sure to do your stretching and go slow. You don't want to injure your tendons or ligaments!

Take something natural for these aches and pains. I take a Glucosamine, MSM and Celadrin product that really works.
