Wow. Get the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L or Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L lens. Get a flash unit. L means Luxary because they take the best pictures when attached to any Canon camera. Lots of glass makes them really nice too. Heavy remember that. Yes, buy a filter to protect your expensive lens.

The one with the cleanest glass, you don't want any dirt ruining such a great subject. Whatever lens you get, be sure to get a UV filter to protect it. Filters are cheap, lens aren't.
