Okay...here is my situation.

I would like to know what kind of refund my husband and I can expect. Our total income for 2006 was really low...barely even $20,000. He is in the Army, and if you are a lower rank, the pay isn't great. But that's a whole different story. We both claimed 0 so the maximum amount was taken out of our paychecks. If we file jointly, what kind of refund can we expect? What other kind of information do you need to know before you could give me an accurate answer? Thanks!

If you are doing your own taxes, figure the long and short forms, try married and filing joint. then try filing married but filing alone for both of you and see what your return will be.And choose which ever benefits you. I think with that small amount of income you should get about all you paid in back.

Without knowing such items as whether you have any childen and if so, how old they are; and what amount you had withheld, nobody can give you even a guess.

you can figure it out yourself if you go to the H&R block website they have a tax estimator where you can put in all your information and it will calculate your taxes free of charge.
