ya,space electrification can take place which requires very very high electric field of about 3*10^5 V/m which leads to ioninisation of the air molecules making them conductive at that stage. Usually air is a nonconductor of electricity because of which it also acts as a dielectric material for capacitors. At the above electric field intensity,the air molecules get ionised and hence you can see actually the electric charges (electrons) being conducted through space which is actually space electrification.
