I am Christian. I believe in live and let life. The answer to your question lies in blind faith. I believe those who are so determined to convert others that it is physically taxing on them if they do not succeed, have been brainwashed. Their religion does not seem to be a real religion, but rather that of a cult. Sometimes, I believe that many who call themselves Christians are really members of a cult. I do not believe to be one of them, as I do not shove my faith down others throats. They are unable to see the truth, and that is why they do not live and let live.

It works both ways you know? Many people here seem obsessed with convincing the non-religious that they are wrong to not believe. Why?
Why not just live & let live?

Some are obsessed that way but I suspect most are not. I don't mind who believes what. I do mind when a believer thinks that a) I am bad, b) I am going to hell, c) I need to be saved, d) laws need to be passed to make sure I don't sin.

Notice, if you will, that most of the non-believers that are attacking believers are going against people who do the things that I previously mentioned. You don't see many attacks on Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Janis, etc.

Ah, I've never told anyone they were wrong to believe, belief is a personal thing, and if someone is going to challenge my beliefs or threaten me with eternal damnation (Just remember, when someone comes up to you in Heaven -if you make it there- and laughs in your face, it's probably me) I'm gonna come back just as hard.

I can sit and talk god and theology and belief structures all day, but only if it's in an environment where there is no throwing of stones, because you guys's book says NOTHING about throwing stones back, just "Let he among you with no sin cast the FIRST stone..."

Because believing in things without evidence or proof allows people to justify anything. Including running planes into buildings in the name of "god". Belief in god is dangerous, unnecessary, and in the end detrimental to society. It's time we as a society moved on from belief in superstitious nonsense and became more rational beings.

I believe that the internet, with it's rapid spread of ideas and increasing availability, will hasten the death of religion by hundreds of years.

I have the same question for religious people trying to convince atheists they should believe.
I do believe in live and let live.

When religious people enter public service, they scare the hell out of all of us, that's why. They don't live and let live. They legislate and we suffer. Why can't gays get married? Why is gambling or prostitution illegal? Why is stem cell research banned? It's the little things like this that bother us.

Of course the reverse never happens, like Christian missionaries never go and destroy native cultures and religions to replace it with their own do they?

Well, I for one am a Christian. I am all for live & let live, but there is a "but".

Have you ever seen someone with a newborn kid and their pictures? They want to show everyone their beautiful little child, because they are just so excited and they love them so much.

Simply put, that is how I feel about Jesus.

They are doing exactly what they claim they dislike about religious people. So they are fulfilling prophesy AND making a double standard! LOL
