Last night I left a whole, brand new gallon of french vanillia ice cream out all night.. I went ahead and put it back in the freezer. The ice cream has been in the freezer all day. So...Will this survive? Can I still eat it tonight? God, I hope I didn't ruin it!
Thanks for your help,
~Jenny

You might want to make sure of a few things. One, do you eat out of the container? If so you may want to discard it because your saliva will begin to turn it sour, or you might want to smell and make sure that it has not began to spoil. If it looks good and smells good, then chances are it still will be.

I completely understand your desire not to waste a single spoon of really good ice cream!!! If you are unafraid of bacteria then you should mix the ice cream every hour or so with a kitchen wizz or similare to prevent it being solid or crunchy with ice which will form as it refreezes

Am I misunderstanding?? It was out all night?? According to proper food temperatures, anything out for over 2 hours (room temp) should not be kept!!

I personally think I'd rather drive to the store and buy another container of ice cream!! It's worth a few bucks not to get sick.

That would be a nasty upset stomach-spoiled dairy product!!

Having said this, I will not drink milk on the day it expires!!
