However, I DO have a heart shaped cake pan, Would I somehow be able to press a thin layer of the cookie batter into the cake ban and bake it into a large cookie? Do you think it will work?

This is an old standby trick from the 1950's, when decorated cakes made from cut-up round and square layers were popular. I'm modifying it to work for a cookie.

Form the cookie dough into a large ball and roll it into a large circle. Cut half circles at an angle from either side of the larger one so that the bottom of the circle is now pointed.

Place the half circles on top to form a heart, press the dough firmly together, and bake. Frost with white icing and sprinkle with pink-tinted coconut.

It makes a very pretty cake, and it should make an equally pretty sugar or chocolate chip cookie.

yup it will definatly work, just be sure to check it often to make sure it doesn't burn and maybe lower the oven tepmerature a little bit. It will take longer than a normal cookie to bake. The only difference between a cookie pan and a cake pan is the height of the sides. You could also use the cake pan as a giant cookie cutter and then put the cookie on a normal cookie sheet, but I'd just make it in the cake pan if your only doing one.

-It would work, however it would need more time and less heat.
-It might be best to go to walmart and get a cookie pan. Isn't a large cookie- kinda equal to a small cake.
-You might want to try a cake. Then u could be more creative.
-Can you roll out the dough in a cookie form and then bake?
-Bake a thick circle cookie and then cut into a heart.
-That is very nice of you to do for your hubby. Good Luck.

Why not just spread the cookie dough into a circle and cut a V out of the top? Im afraid if you use the cake pan then the cookie will get stuck in the bottom and break when you take it out.

If you are cooking a massive cookie, use the cookie pan as a cookie cutter. You can also hand cut out the heart shaped cookies with a knife. Or go to the store and just buy a heart shaped cookie cutter.

go to a specialty cooking store, and buy a heart shaped cookie cutter. Then, roll the dough out on a greased cookie pan and press the desired number of cookies out, and bake them. if you want to make it look decorative, put it in a basket lined with red tissue paper and serve it. it might not make large cookies but make a few and it should work just as well.

Of course it will! Just make sure that the thickness is even, you adjust the time to allow for cooking the centre (maybe add a minute, but watch for burning the edges, and please MAKE SURE that you use a spring-form pan - You'll never lift a large cookie out of a straight sided pan without it breaking! Alternatively, you could use a heart-shaped cookie cutter and make him a whole batch.

Just make a big cookie in a cookie pan like dont spread them out, let them morph together and cut it out into a big cookie.

make sure you lay cookie all over the sheet otherwise you will probably have a bunch of spaces between ur heart/cookie.

Note- just in case you may want to leave the edges cookie free so that when the cookie cooks"out" and rises and stuff, it has somewhere to go. hope it works best of luck.

Roll the cookie dough out into a circle on waxed paper and either cut a heart shape by hand or create a cutout paper stencil to cut around. Then transfer heart to a cookie sheet.

Just form the cookie dough to the desired heart shape and put it on a cookie sheet. I think that would work just fine. I am going to try it now myself, because I think that's a cute idea.
