A charge card IS a credit card. Also, even if you can afford to pay late charges, don't pay late. Ever. The earlier the better when building your credit history so be careful and the best thing to do with any card is use it no more than you can pay off every month.

I have never applied for a CC online, so can't tell you if they have temp cards. They may. I know it's much easier for teens/young adults to obtain a credit card nowadays, so good luck and respect your credit! It may seem like no big deal now but you'll be glad in the future.

A charge card is a card w/ no credit limit. Usually it is used by businesses and the govt which they pay off the balance at the end of the month. Charge cards for personal use are American Express. They differ from normal credit cards because they have rewards points, no interest, only an annual fee.

Credit cards, like VISA and Mastercard, have a credit limit and the balance can be carried over to the next month. You don't have to pay off the whole monthly bill at once. You can pay off a monthly minimum if you cannot afford to pay in full. A credit card only increases credit score if a user only spends 20% of the credit limit. A charge card does not. It is used by businesses and individuals w/ a large bankroll that do not need to rely on credit.

A charge card is an alternative to a debit card. Debit cards are linked to checking accounts. Charge cards are used for everyday spending, but it is billed at the end of the month, unlike debit cards which withdraws funds daily.

There are student credit cards w/ low interest and 0 annual fees too. They are used to build a new college student's credit, or at least get them hooked into debt.
