How to put somone on hold on a home phone.?

Ok, Say im talking to joe, and I want to put joe on hold and call susie. Then get back on the line with both people. How do I do it???

How to use
To Add A Third Person To Your Call


Press receive button once.
Wait for three short tones. Dial the number of the third person.
Wait for an answer. Then press receiver button once to bring the first person back for the three-way call.
If the third person doesn't answer or if the line is busy, press receiver button twice to stop the ringing or busy signal. This will connect you to the first person.


Important Features

If you hang up, both of the other people will be disconnected.

If you receive a call, you can still use Three-Way Calling to add another person by following the instructions above. You pay only for the call you make. Long-distance charges may apply.

With Three-Way Calling, you can temporarily cancel Call Waiting while you are on another call.

This service is not available in all areas.

Ok. This is called 3-way calling. First off, you have to have that service from the phone company. If you do, then call the first person, put them on hold by pressing the flash button, call the second person, then press the flash button when they answer.

call joe, switch the line over (flash button) call the number for susie and while its ringing hit flash again and there you go! ^_^

It depends on the model phone you have! Most newer phones that are not too cheap will have a mute button on them. You can check your owner's manual for any options your phone might have too.
