i understand the appeal, believe me, im asian, so i know whats the big deal with being white and all. but we are who we are, so why cant we just accept ourselves and be happy be with it. why do so many people try to pretend to be white. everyone can see right thru it. its so fake. asian women in america are the best examples of this. but others too.

I feel you!! but,...i don't think it's just a matter of trying to be "white" (at least not in of itself). i think other races try to assimulate or intergrate with the so called "norm" or the majority, hence trying to be "white" (or with the "cool" race-ie trying to be black). its kinda like when peple go to other countries and try to look, behave and talk like the natives. people jst want to fit in and be "normal", the sad irony is sometimes it makes us look like asses espicially when we're trying too hard. i agree with u-BE U!!

Huh? Can you give us a specific detailed description on the meaning of "being white"? Who wants to be a Crayon? I can understand if someone is pretending to be what they aren't, but I don't find anything appealing about being a White Crayon? Of course your right, if someone chose to be the color white, then you could possibly see right through them? I'm a Halfbreed American in America can you tell me what I'm being an example of?

I've never tried being white, i wouldn't want to be anything other than indian. But i understand what you're saying, yes, a lot of people attempt "acting" like their white...and i'm frm the city, so people act like they're black and hispanic a lot too...it's just their insecurity and perhaps ignorance that's speaking though.

I like my skin color...and I'm half asian.. I was born in america and I do accept who I am except the fact that I am ugly and have huge thighs.

Actually it doesn't aply to everyone. Some of us are happy with who we are and would do nothing to change it. Your skin colour does not make you a better person. We are al made equal and just need to be proud of who we are.

if you assume they are trying to be white when you see asian or black ppl dye their hair into blond or brown, you are dead wrong.

i'm hispanic myself and i dye my hair blond or brown continuously. that doesn't mean i'm trying to be white.
it's just a fashion.
just think about it. what if all asian women stay with black straight hair? no one would look unique but just plain and the same.
