i see that a few of you have the closemindedness of"once a criminal, always a criminal". you think you are so much better than me. all i see is that you are the reason i dont like a lot of my fellow countrymen and women. here i am trying to better myself and you just continue to kick me in the head as im down. yet i see a few service people make the news with their belligerent actions, you got their back . im glad i dont know you because i will undoubtedly catch another case by furthering my aggression. thank you for letting me see the piousness that blinds your prejudiced eyes. oh and by the way... if you knew me, you WOULD want me beside you in a fire fight, you judge b4 you know the facts which says a lot about your character too. my assults stem from ME and my FAMILY being attacked and i push back rather then being run over by the criminal elements in my neighborhood

Given the responsiblity placed on our troops in terms of Property, weapons, and lives under their control. The fact that Personnal are often expected to follow laws and orders with little or no supervision. That each and every member of the US Armed Forces if forced by their postion to trust each other with out hesitation. And that if everyone was watching everyone else nothing would get done, The Goverment has decided that no felons will be accepted.

No Offense to you but why would we put a criminal in a Law Enforcement/Defense Occupation? How could you be trusted by someone that only know your record, and does not have time to get to know you? Would you right now be willing to trust ME with a gun behind you? Not knowing where I'm from? What I've done?

But that is what we ask those men and women to do every day. So the standards must be such that they KNOW that the person behind them can be trusted.

I hope that what I've said has not offended you. Just the way I look at it. If you really wish to hone your aggression into benifical actions and develop discipline, there are many ways to do it outside of the military.
Best of Luck to you

The military is very intelligent. Despite what people think, the military is not about focusing your violent tendancies. This is another example of the fact the military does not just take anybody. I am sorry you screwed your life up with bad decisions that now effect choices you wanna make. You did this to yourself, and depending on what you did to become a violent offender, it may be better if no one in the world gave you access to a gun. Also it is a VOLUNTEER military, so everyone is willing to serve, it's just that some wanna decide where and when after the fact of joining.

it sounds to me like you still have a whole lot of aggression in you. i think it is wonderful that you so passionately want to serve your country. and, you're right, it does suck that you have to sit aside because of your past. but, it is something you need to cope with. it just means that the abilities you have to be great in the military are meant to be used in the civilian world. don't let the man get you down. stay on your horse and find you and what you are meant to do. if you truly want to "hone your aggression into more beneficial actions" try going to anger management and learning how. please refrain in the future from making your sarcastic jokes about joining the other side. once you learn how to restrain, you will start to grow and handle your anger more.

good luck

p.s. to dr. daniel - you are an a**, an ungrateful american who needs to find a new country to live in. it must be nice to think you are so much better than the people who put their lives on the line every day to protect their family, their country that they love, and s*** like you. well, thank my husband and friends for your freedom to be you. please sir, grow up.

Dr Daniel, you can go screw yourself. Its people like you that make me wish i didnt join. Im working on my masters degree, but i guess its void since im just a soldier right?

The military is a volunteer service, and we are professional and do not want criminals serving with us. How can we be expected to truly have faith in your dedication to people in your squad. We put each others lives in our hands, i wouldnt want someone like you watching my back. Sorry, but its the truth. And, im an MP, so why would i want you doing law enforcement duties, or going on a convoy escort with me if you have a criminal background?

I believe with time people like you will one day be able to enlist.

Take this into consideration. America is 80% Christian and their slogan is, 'to forgive and forget'. Yet, how many laws do we have that metts out punishments of all kinds?

What I think is sad is that we do not have many laws to 'bring the lost back into the fold'. I personally believe that if people, who made mistakes like yourself, enlist and serve honorably in the military then they should be allowed to be full citizens with their records wiped clean. Now, I'm saying that except I think you could agree with me that there are a few crimes that are completely unforgiveable.

The world is what it is and it is up to us to make it what we want it to be.

You not being able to join is why we are intelligent. I am a professional soldier. I did not want to serve with some criminal who can not control themselves. Go have fun in Korea.

Hire an attorney if you can afford one.It is possible to get that expunged unless you did something real bad. They can do this especially you wanting to join the military.I have seen it done.If possible get a letter or statement from the victim.Humble yourself and be sincere. The military helped me when I about messed my life up.

Why dont you just lay low and make yourself useful and stop making a big fuss about what you have done to yourself. Who knows, maybe someday you will be needed here.
