A Nintendo DS, but only if you trust that it won't take away his time with you. Make sure it has some good games, like "New Super Mario Bros" and "The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass". There is no better gift for a guy, unless it divides his time.

I don't know, I am a guy and I never know what to buy for guys, because I never had any guy friends close enough to buy anything for, and no brothers.

IF he is your boyfriend why would you need to ask a message board of strangers what to get him for his birthday? Don't you ever TALK to him? Do you not have a clue about what he is interested in? If he has a favorite team, you could go to one of those team kiosks in the mall and buy him some cool stuff that goes along with his team. I don't know his age, but my fiance loved his Steelers mug and license plate stuff that I got him. It wasn't his only gift, but it brought out the kid in him.
