As of right now your dear Mother is just sleeping. She will stay that way until Jesus comes again. Please rest assure that your Mom is in no way suffering anymore. People will say alot of things to you about your Mom being in heaven, but let your bible tell you truth. Lean on God and not your own understanding. I do hope you find comfort.

If your mother got last rites she is either RC, Episcopalian or Orthodox. She is in heaven. She was a baptized Christian or she would not have had the last rites of the Church, which are not called that anymore. The idea that you have to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior in a "born again" prayer or you will go to hell is BS. Plain and simple. Baptism is the only thing necessary for salvation. So says the WHOLE Church for over 1400 years before any Protestants came on the scene. Follow the true teachings. Your mother is in the arms of Jesus. Don't worry.

I was raised Roman Catholic and went to Catholic schools all my life (pre-kinder to Senior year of High School) and after all of those years of bible study at the hands of nuns, I can say that it sounds to me like she was given her Last Rites and from a Catholic Stand Point you don't have to worry about her "not knowing".
Her condition was one of the body, her mind does not have to "know" what is going on. The soul trapped within the body would be fully aware. If anything the Alzhiemers gave her a kind of spiritual innocence that mentally challenged children (who sometimes die) have. These children, even if they do not recive thier Sacraments, are not considered to be Sinners by nature either. You mother would be the same condition, just because she couldn't "mentally" understand the sacrament doesn't prevent her from spiritually reciving it. The fact reamins she recived last rites and was in now mental condition to be considered incappable of sinning there after.
She is in heaven, and probably went straight there upon death. By Roman Catholic Dogma at least.

I was raised Christian but Live a Holy Spirit Filled Life not religiously restricted, and I Whole heartedly believe that we all have a Home in Heaven. That our souls once released allow us to make amends and reconnect with our Creator. As I believe whole-heartedly your mother did. And while she may have looked filled with Terror (I have seen others die in person), she may have just been in conflict with leaving the Physical world or it simply being a Physiological reaction to the body shutting down - not a pretty process. (there is a chance her spirit left her long before the death thus the reaction)
Your mother is now filled with Unconditional love and back to the Perfection she was Born with ....Rest Easier that your mother IS safe, we live in hell each day to learn tolerance & grow.....she is Now at peace. I would pray for signs or ask your mother to reach out to - perhaps in a dream to give you comfort.

Your Mom will most likely be resurrected after Armegeddon. Right now she is just asleep in death. Hell fire and damnation is a lie and God would never do such a thing. (See Jeremiah 7:31 for his reaction to people burning their children alive in fire). The Bible talks about a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. For whatever reason, your Mom was unable to accept the truth about God and Jesus Christ. God knows her heart condition and he knows the reasons. Only he can truly decide the outcome but regardless, she will not ever suffer again.

I understand your concern and the heartache you feel. I have read the other letters and I can tell you that so far no one has given you a true answer. Because the thought of loved ones in hell is unbearable, those left behind try to rationalize God's Word away. I hope that in the process of dying, God spoke to your Mother's heart and she is with Him. My advice to you is this;
commit everything to God in prayer and he will give you peace.
Commit yourself to telling the remaining members of your family of their need to settle their destination before death so that you need never go through this anquish again. God is kind and merciful, but He cannot go against His own word. God gave the responsibility of spreading the gospel to others to His children and we are responsible if we fail to warn those in our circle of
life. Leave your mother to God and just lean on Jesus for your own comfort and peace. Get your answers from the Word and spend some time in the Psalms as David experienced most of the problems known to man and his writings are a great source of strength.

If your mom was with the lord before she had alzhiemers, I believe she's in heaven right now, thought I'm not very sure either. God bless.

No one can tell you where she is at.Don't let people tell you she is in hell because no one knows that. Did you ever witness to her even though she had Alzheimers? Even if her mind isn't coherent her spirit is still aware. So if you ever ministered to her even though you didn't see a reaction, no telling what was going on on the inside of her. Remember this Gods word does not return to Him void and God is always good.

I hear you. I went through the same thing with my father. Just pray for God to give you peace about your mom. He will. She may have been frightened because the Alzheimer's was affecting her thoughts. Christ is merciful and who knows what He did on behalf of your mom. He doesn't want anyone to perish. Leave this with Jesus and just tell Him how hurt you are and to help you. He helped me and He will help you. God Bless, child of God.

You know something? Alzheimer's could only affect the physical organ that houses your mother's mind. What God did through His Son Jesus Christ deals with our spirits....and you don't know how she may have responded in her heart to the wooing of the Holy Spirit prior to the end.
I can't say she's in hell or heaven - all I can say with certainty is she is in the hands of a gracious, compassionate, and just Heavenly Father who loves her far more than even her own son is capable of. And you can trust that He was dealing with her heart all the days of her life....whether her mind was able to respond or not in the end doesn't matter. It was how she responded in her heart, and the alzheimer's could never touch that. Any more than disease in any other physical organ could affect who she was in her spirit.
I'm truly sorry for the confusion and torment you've been experiencing over this. But in this, although it sounds trite and cliche, the truth is you have to put your trust in the Lord. Please know that He takes NO pleasure in the death of the unsaved, and desires that ALL people come to the knowledge of Christ and His love for them.....so regardless of our eternal destination, heaven or hell, God's perfect will for each of us is revealed in His Word, and He doesn't want to see one of us separated from Him...in that you can trust!
And you can trust Him to help you with the grieving you have felt for your mother....
Hope this helps.
