what if you kept the same thing for the tables as you have for the bridesmaids? black table cloths (don't knock it til you hear me out), and centerpieces of bowls/vases of flowers in the colors they're carrying. you can also maybe get chair covers in the same colors and alternate the chairs. or have an orange chaired table, with a purple chaired table next to it. i personally love balloons at weddings. you could have a centerpiece for each table with a mixture of balloons in the colors (minus the black, but use black ribbons to hold them down), and maybe rent a balloon arch for behind the wedding party (black dress and black tuxes would look SHARP in front of one of them). As far as favors, your options are pretty much endless. If you plan on making your own, search for lci paper (I can't remember the exact address...sorry)...they have lots of regular paper, plus cardstock in bold colors.

I LOVE the idea of the black table cloths with the alternating colors for chair colors. I'd probably do the head table with a white table cloth and white chair covers. Have a bright mixed bouquet on each black table and on the head table.
If you want each table decorated in the various colors, I'd still suggest the black table cloth and have all those chair covers one color with the same color bouquet on the table (this could work for table assignments as well). Have the paper ware match the color as well. Do napkins the color with a black band on them. Have the head table white with a mixture of all the colors.
If you are doing a buffet, still put the paper products on the tables and have your guests find their tables before going thru the buffet (I like this because they know their silverware and napkins are on the tables and there is one less thing to juggle). Cover the buffet with black and use the different colors as serving platters with some mixed bouquets sprinkled throughout to bring the theme thru.
Your luau colored but not themed wedding sounds absolutely beautiful! Congratulations & good luck!

Make it tastefully colorful. Incorporate the colors you want with flower arrangements on tables (love the floating or submerged flowers with floating candles idea). Do you want sit down dinner or buffet style??? Personally sit down is great but expensive and gives your guests less choices. My friend had a buffet style, and the table was a spectacular sight. It was set up to be tiered at different heights and the meats (cut to cubes), cheese (cut to cubes), vegetables and fruits, as well as the bread (also cubed) were all arranged to be aesthetically pleasing on the table and it was gorgeous. It was very colorful and also incorporated vases of different heights with the flowers from the wedding in it. Sounds crazy but instead of being drawn out 5 tables long it was all on 2 tables put together lengthwise, covered, and the food covering the table in a gorgeous arrangement. It looked somewhat like a waterfall. Also you can put those beautiful flower onto your cake (if they are OK to contact food) or incorporate the colors. Your options are endless. The black table cloth idea is nice but I think it could be a little drab. You could however use the black floorlenth table cloth and then drape a square colored (of your choice or to match the flowers) on top of the black to lighten it up and give it a little color. I think the black could help tone down and unite the Luau colors and make it not luau themed.

You can keep it simple by placing floral centerpieces with your colors on the tables. Use white linens on your tables so all the colors will be too overwhelming. A mixture of exotic flowers (ex. orchids) would be really pretty. Hope this helps

You might try focusing on the bright flowers - I saw a wedding that submerged silk flowers in vases for centerpieces and floated candles on top. It was very pretty!
