I live in a small town and everybody trust's everyone. But I sure don't. I lock my car doors and my house door and all the windows. I don't even leave the door unlocked during the day when I am at home and I lock the bedroom door when I go to sleep. And when I take a bath also. I am paranoid I guess.

I don't know if I'm more afraid of being a victim of a violent crime, but I don't feel 100% safe as I once did.

Considering I live in a safer than most area in Idaho, I'd have to say time is on my side at 41 and victim free so far. Also, I am always aware of my surroundings and lock my car and house when either inside or not.

It depends on where you live and yes there are alot of poor street punks that want to jack your money. I think if stupid president bush raised min. wage to at the very least $7.50 an hr. It would make some of those poor punks less violent.

One of the nice things about living here in conservative Texas, they will understand if I shoot some clown who tries to commit a violent crime against me or my family.
Where they are tough on criminals and allow gun ownership there is less violent crime and more criminals die of stupidity. In general I think it improves the human breed.

Yes, actually I am. I also worry for the safty of my daughters. I live in a small town but the meth. has taken its toll on our once safe comunity. Sad but true. There are robberies and rapes almost everyday. I wish I could tell you otherwise but I can't. I even carry a gun when I go to town. I would hate to use it but times are a changin.
