I dont' think it's too early to start working with her on it. Especially since she is taking off her diaper. I would start getting her some pull-ups and show her to to take those off and WHEN to take em off. And get her a potty and sit her on it when she takes her pull-up off. See if she does anything. Hope that helps.

My 16 month old son does this everyday, but is not showing any interest in potty training, i think its a little early. My 2 1/2 year old also does this about 20 times a day and he has gone on the potty a few times but just doesnt want to yet, so I have found that putting onesies on under their clothes helps because they cant get them off. You can try to potty train and see how it goes but I think it is just one of those new discoveries...at least it was in my case. I do keep their litte potty chair out in case they decide to use it one day though. They will tell me potty (mostly my 2 1/2 year old) so I will get him undressed and he will sit there but never do anything and then doesnt want his diaper back on b/c he likes being naked better :-) Good luck!

My daughter is 18 months and doing the same thing. I got one of those potty chairs that sings when they "go" in it. So everytime she takes her diaper off I put her on the potty and if she gets up i put the diaper back on her. So, if she doesnt want to just sit on the potty all day she leaves it on. Aslo when she keeps doing that I put pants on her that she cant get off herself like bibs or jeans that she cannot unbutton. If she seems ready to start go for it. The sooner the better I say!! Praise her when she tries... that way she'll know shes doing somthing good. Hope this helps...good luck!!

My daughter did the same thing at 16 months... She would even tell me when she went peepee and poopoo... She is 2 1/2 and JUST now is becoming potty trained! (2 weeks without a diaper!) ... You can try, but if she's doesn't want to sit on the potty, dont make her! She'll do it when shes ready! Good Luck! its not easy! :)

My daughter was taking her diaper off too, its just her being frusterated with what is on her body, at least thats how my daughter was. I knew she was ready to start potty training when I would go to the bathroom first thing in the morning and she would sit on her little chair and go as I was going myself. She was 2 years old when I finally started putting the pull ups on her and she would tell me when she had to go, and she felt the urge to go. It took her like 3 months to finally get it down, and she still has accidents, but she told me when she was ready by her actions.

Everytime she takes her diaper off I would put her on the potty and see if she goes. It won't hurt to try. Otherwise I would put over-alls or pants on her to stop her from taking her diaper off. Your daughter will let you know when she is ready.

You should talk to your daughter, no one hear can tell you if she's ready. my daughter did the same thing and she was NOT ready for training -try putting the diaper on backwards- But if she KNOWS that she has to wee or pooh and THEN takes her diaper off, then stick her on the toilet, it won't hurt to let her try.
Put her in little knickers for a day or so and see how often she either tells you she needs to go, or if she has accidents.
She will only be 'trainable' when she knows her urges and is ready.

You really should wait. I started training my first daughter when she was about 18 months, and I think it just drug things out and made them more difficult. She really won't get it yet.
As for the diapers, it's just another thing she's discovered she can do. It's a novelty, and she gets a funny reaction out of you when she does it. They can't pull of the pull ups as easily (they're more expensive though), or just always keep something on top of her diaper- short, bloomers, whatever. She'll forget about it soon.

Take her to the "potty" when she takes off her diaper. If she's ready, she'll go. Otherwise, put some pants on over the diaper so she can't take it off.

To me it sounds like she's ready to learn. Children are all ready at different ages, there is no "set time' to start, they do that on their own. Two of mine started right after their third birthdays, my third child was potty trained at 20 months and my fourth at 17 months. I was potty trained believe it or not and only 9 months (began walking at 8 months) Its up to each child though babe, good luck to you and congrats go out to you all for another wonderful milestone !!!
