Probably not. THC has to build up in your system over time before it will register a positive result on a drug test. I really doubt that you would have inhaled enough second hand smoke to cause a problem. However, if you are around smokers on a regular basis ... this could be a different story.

Your drug test shouldn't be affected, but brush up on your spelling and punctuation before filling out the job application!
"I have a pre-employment drug test on Monday. I'm on the straight and narrow, but I entered a house where some people were smoking pot today, which is Saturday. Will this affect it in any way?"
Sorry for sounding like the Grammar Police, but I review job applications as part of my job, and yours would've been trashed on the first glance.

Most employers will treat it the same as any other rx. However, because it is illegal federally, that will not be true of federal employers, or some private employers that are nation wide. And, in addition, any other employer can legally federally disqualify you or fire you for medical marijuana. For example, WalMart is not respecting medical marijauna cards on drug tests the way they do other rx's. The key... Make for CERTAIN that you have your med mj card. Second, also have your doctor write you a script for marinol. Its synthetic legal thc sold at every pharmacy nation wide. And while because of legality issues employers DONT have to respect med marijuana, marinol is a legal rx nation wide, and they DO Have to respect that. The great thing is a drug test cant tell the two apart.

If you are around 2nd hand smoke regularly their may be very small traces in your blood stream. However, if this is the only real occurance in quite a while you will be fine. Give yourself a good work out, if anything it will lower your stress levels about the whole ordeal. Don't worry, the precious bit that you could have been subjected too wouldn't show up on a test on Monday anyway. Now if you smoked, at all, in the past 30 days, that would be a reason for concern.

As long as you didn't smoke it, you should be alright. For the future, try to avoid pot smokers, especially right before a pre-employment drug screen.

A drug screen detects drugs that are in your system. Breathing secondhand pot smoke will trigger a positive on a correctly administered drug screen.
