My daughter got a new kitten last summer that was all black, but he has the biggest yellow eyes, so she named him Blinx. He's almost grown up, but his head has stayed small and his eyes big - he's so cute!! Other suggestions: Lynx, Blynx, Blinky, Buster. He started getting fat, so his nickname is Fatty! :) We have another cat that throws up if he can't nibble on food all the time because he gorges when hungry... Blinx just eats all the time because it's available. I guess he's just going to be fat.

Try naming him yourself based on characters from TV shows or movies you like - rather than asking for advice. I'm serious! I've had 6 cats of my own in 20 years and over 15 others that were at my mother-in-laws that I've named and all of them have been based on either their personality or characters from things I enjoyed to read or watch.
As an example - my three current kids are Vixen, Cupid and Miracle. None of their names have much to do with their colouring. Cupid, a 2 year-old male, is an orange tabby and is the most loving and affectionate boy cat I've ever had. It took my wife and I about 3 hours to decide on his name after running through a whole list of ones that dealt with his personality.
Vixen is named this because of her personality also. She is a very sweet and angelic looking cat with white/buff colouring. But she can get into mischief and act very vixenous when she wants to be. Plus she has a bit of fox look to her.
Miracle is named this because of the way we met her - at the age of 9 days old in the middle of a rainstorm outside under our deck that was barely a foot off the ground. Her and her brother, Banshee, were without a mommy cat for 2 days and desperate for rescue in the rain. Miracle was sucking on mud and water from a puddle unable to move with her eyes still closed, while Banshee (named for the X-Men comic character of the same name that has a sonic scream) was able to move around a bit, had his eyes open, and was staying out of the puddles under the deck while screaming his little kitten head off for help for himself and his sister.
Miracle is so named because we rescued her first - thinking she was the one crying - and because with as bad of shape as she was in it was truly a miracle we found her and brought her back from the edge of death. Banshee was found 15 minutes after Miracle but it was his cries that saved her.
Just be creative! Names like these mean more to you and your family than simple "ordinary" names that most people use for cats like "smoky" or "blackie" or "callie."

Well I also have a black cat and its also a boy and its name is Midnite. Also to help you find a name for it like by its personality. You can probably find a really good name that way too!
GOOD LUCK!
