I hear this one all the time, and it is coming up now. You know who you are. And this has been asked before.

There are several famous so-called contradictions in the Bible, but all are easily explained.

Let's see if anyone can do better than Acts 12:4.

If my King James 1611 Bible is what it claims to be, then it has to be word perfect, in English. I've never found a contradiction anywhere in it. And I believe there are none. Show me one.

1 Kings 4.26 – “And Solomon had FORTY THOUSAND stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.”

2 Chron. 9.25 – “And Solomon had FOUR THOUSAND stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen”.

Both of these are from the King James Version (capitalization for emphasis). Which was true? 40,000 or 4,000? You can't believe both.

And please don't claim that this is due to a "copyist error". That is, unless you can provide us with the original documents showing that both statements are in complete agreement.

Have a nice day.

P.S. Hustle Girl - How did I twist these scriptures? I'd like to know.

Marry was not a decendant of David. Joseph was. Yet in several places Jesus is said to be the decedant of David (it is quite clear in Romans 1:3). This is, of course, part of the Messianic prophecy he was to fulfill, but it also means he was the physical son of Joseph. There are a mountain of others, if you are but willing to see.

Word Perfect? I wasn't aware they had that when the King James Bible was written.

I would be careful inviting people to offer a contradiction in the Bible because as a Bible scholar, I know there are contridictions. What you should ask, is show me a contridiction that affects truth or doctine in the Bible, and there are none.

The Bible has not contradictions, many will have you believe that, but it really doesnt. People just choose to twist the scriptures.

there are 2 creationist myths in the bible:

Genesis 1:26 "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..." denoting a plural assembley of gods.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in HIS own image, in the image of God he create him, male and female he created them.

So is it one God, a male god, or a male/female God?
