I find this quote interesting and was wondering what others thoughts and feelings were on this quote. What does this quote mean to you? Do you feel that this quote is true? If so, explain. If not, explain!?

"The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want."

To me it means that if you do not have any direction in life or nothing to aim toward, you are going to spend your life going around and around in circles. Achieveing nothing.

For example if you are unemployed. Without any direction in your life your day would consist of waking up, getting dressed, watching tv, eating you meals, watching more tv, going to bed. Day in day out.

However if you were unemployed and you had some direction in your life, your day would be somewhat different. Because after waking up and getting dressed, rather than spending the rest of the day in front of the tv, you'd be deciding on an industry you'd like to work in, then trying to find ways to get a job in that industry.

It means common sense, that's pretty obvious that'd be the first thing you think of. Some people don't think of things like that though, so that's a good quote.

I think that it means to grab life by the horns and go with it. I heard that if you aren't assertive and aggressive with what you want, you will miss out on the opportunities that life offers. Life is tough, get a helmet.

Yes it is true, because
Without knowing what you want, then there isn't a decision to be made. Without knowing and deciding you never get what you could have decided on. "Be sure to know and decide."

I feel that it is true. Some people don't know what they want, so they don't know what to do to reach happiness. If the person knows what they want, they will have a goal to work towards.

Yes it makes sense to me. To me, it means, before you do anything, make sure what you're going for is exactly what you want, then go for it.

I think it means "make a plan, Stan."
If you're not sure what you want you'll end up spinning your wheels.
