I knew, in high school, that I wanted 3 children. I wouldn't change having them for anything in the world. I was a stay-at-home mother and I loved every minute of it. Just seeing a newborn and watching him/her grow is so amazing. You do your job right and they turn into great parents. Now I have 4 grand daughters and have been there since the day each came home from the hospital. They are 7,8 and 10 and watching them grow has been amazing. I spend a lot of time 'building memories' with them. We do gardening in the summer, plus, pick berries. In the winter time, like now, we go to the snow and slide down the hill in inner tubes - I squeal just as loud as they do and they love it.
If I never had children - I wouldn't have all of these fantastically great moments in my life.

After trying for almost seventeen years, just the fact its a true gift having them is amazing ( & you ? what have I done to deserve this privilege) Then they do something new and unexpected every day with unconditional love no matter how tired or grumpy you are. What I love the most, apart from everyone has said is to hear that uncontrolled giggling and laughter it gets me every time.

Additional .....The time an effort that you put into your children is more than compensated for, during the last years of your life. This is when the score card is returned. If you have done a good job you will be looked after. It is also reassuring to know that the person that you chose to share your life with, but will leave behind will be well cared for. I don't want to completely repeat what others have said because it is all true, but when you have a child (or children) you suddenly realize that a lot of things that you worried so much about all your life don't matter as much anymore. You get to experience the world through brand new eyes. I believe, you truly learn what love is, and get a better grasp on how you feel about people that you love and have loved in the past. This is starting to sound a bit cheesy, but those diaper commercials that say "having a baby changes everything" could not be more right!

I'm not the questionnaire - but I actually read every answer - 17 as it currently stands and I agree with the majority - a child is brought into this world not for personal possession or ego - but to give life and a positive up bringing to help nurture this world to be a better place for them and their children after them. I do, however, want to give a pat on the back to those who wish to remain childless. It takes a lot for a person to admit that they just don't have the time or want the responsibility of raising a child or children in today's society.

Having kids if the greatest and most important accomplishment you will ever have the priviledge of taking part in, in your lifetime. It will also give you the most pure and undeniable feeling of unconditional love you will ever experience. It is a truly amazing experience and one that I cherish each and every day. Now I did not say that it is not a difficult task, but well worth every sacrifice and every moment of time as you will undoubtedly find out when you have children of your own.

It's roughly equivilant to watching yourself as an infant and a child, only a bit more emotional and endearing. If you could guide yourself as you were when you were a child, in this direction or that from where you are now, wouldn't you? With your own children, you want to do this even more. They're part of you, like your flesh jumping off your body and trying to make it's way in the world. You'd want to lend a hand.

Everything. I have one son who is 1 and I love him to death. He is the reason I get up in the morning. He is the greatest thing.

Getting to pass on everything you have learned to the next generation.
Taking your kids to all the places you would have wanted to go.
Keeping away all the bad stuff that tainted you as a kid.(keeping their purity)
Hope for the future in their eyes.
Tickles
Hardy laughter at silly stuff
Someone to pass on the family recipes to.
The Ice cream man is exciting again.
Christmas through the eyes of a child is magic.

Truely unconditional love to them and for you.

The first time they smile, your heart melts! (even if it's not a real smile, and just gas, haha!) Before I got pregnant, I knew I loved my spouse, my family, friends, etc, but once I had my baby, and set eyes on him, I knew exactly what I was placed on this earth to do, and the love I felt was unlike anything else! I love knowing that my spouse and I made him. They are my everything in life. Even though I wasn't completely ready for a child at the time I got pregnant, I wouldn't change it for the world, and I'm so happy to have him in my life. I love when I pick my baby up, and he stops crying, just because it me, his mom, picking him up, and that's enough to comfort him. It's amazing the connection you feel between you and your baby...I just got my baby circumcised a few days ago, and when he was crying I started to cry, because I felt for him and hated seeing him in pain. I've never loved someone so much. I can't wait to see him grown up :)
