Don't eat any meat for prevention until you dont have the pressure of time. Sit ups will help tighten it so it wont look quite as bad. Use hot wash-cloths when you cannot do the excersizes to sweat it out in that area.

You can do all the sit ups you want, but if you don't add cardio into your exercise, you will end up with strong abs, but a layer of fat above them, and unable to see anything.
There is no way to drastically change your body in a month, but you can loose 4-6 lbs in one months...if you want to loose the weight in a healthy manner.
You have to do 30mins of cardio, at least 5 days a week and then add weight lifting 3 times a day.

Crunches.Start with 25 to the middle and 25 to each side. Increase them daily and the bulge will be gone.I have to do 75 every day at soccer practice to eliminate fat and make our abs hard so it doesn't hurt(that bad) when we get hit.

Like everyone else pretty much said, sit-ups and crunches are your best bet. Personally I HATE doing crunches and sit-ups, so I usually blow dry my hair in a crunch-position on my bed. Since Im doing my hair I dont really think about it so its not so bad. Plus, I saw results in about 2weeks.

If you drink drinks that are carbonated, the carbonation can "swell" your middle because of all the air. i'd suggest to cut back, but also do some exercises like crunches, situps, etc. but not in large amounts so that your abs are like David Hasselhof's.
