they have a "waver". it looks just like a crimper only the sections for arent as big.
also, when u braid your hair only put in 2 braids, it will make it
look more natural.

Even though you said you already use a curling iron, the reason you are getting ringlets instead of waves is because you are using a curling iron that is too small. Try using a bigger curling iron. (before buying a bigger curling iron, you could try using your small one, but don't hold it as long). You can also use hair curlers. They work very well also. I also do not know if this works, but supposedly if you spray your hair with warm salt water it will make it wavy naturally. It's worth a try!

When you get out of the shower, put your hair in a towel and twist it onto the top of your head ( kind of like a turban) then leave it for about 20 minutes if you have thin hair, as much as 1 hour if you have really thick hair. Take the towel off, flip your head upside down and scrunch your hair with
1. curl cream
2. styling gel
Then lift your head and then scrunch it and twist pieces until you get the look you want. Let it air-dry or if you want, blowdry it on low WITH A DIFFUSER, if you dont have a diffuser, dont blowdry it. Oh, ya, and make sure you DONT brush or comb your hair after you take it out of the towel. Apply some hairspray for some extra hold.
Hope this helps

The night before, take a shower and wash your hair. Allow it to dry half way, then pull it up into a high ponytail on your head. Part the ponytail into 4 sections, and roll up with four large sponge rollers. When you wake up the next morning, take down the ponytail and the rollers and shake out the curls gently with your fingers. You will have really sexy waves, the easy way! I recommend using a spray wax for a very light, moveable hold.

Curl your hair with a medium size iron. Take random size sections of hair and wrap them around the curling iron, but don't close them in the bar thingy. Then comb through your hair with your fingers.

First use a little styling mousse and dry with a diffuser so the hair won't get frizzed. Then you should gently twist the section of hair and then apply the curling iron - let it fall loose after it cools, gently comb a little bit and then spray it.

okay. you will need: curl enhancing cream
a one inch curling iron
and volumizing spray.
directions:
*scrunch: apply a quarter size amount of cream all over damp hair. rub the product onto your hands and then scrunch it through your hair to start making waves.
*dry: then blow dry the hair on low heat. to add volume and texture as you dry, massage the roots with your fingers until your whole head is dry.
*curl: wrap random sized sections of hair around the curling iron, keeping the barrel closed. curl all the way to the roots, leaving 1 inch uncurled at th end.
*separate: let your hair cool for two minutes, then gently run your fingers through your curls to break them up, and mist them with hairspray.

well I have two ideas...you could A: curl it and the broush out the curls( but don't do to much or you will actully have curlly hair) or B: get it layered(it worked great for me)...but thats only if you feel like getting it cut
